I went to the notubes website, and I wanted to know if Panaracer tires are okay to use this system on. I have a set of Cinders I want to try to go to tubeless. Thanks in advance.

Just converted a minion DHR 2.5 2-ply and it went flawlessly. still holding air, sealed right up. just gotta follow the instructions on notubes.com for how to convert them. I used a 20" bmx tube instead of a stans strip, and stan's sealant.

trial by fire when I go to vail on sunday :)

I'm running my minion at 27psi tubeless and it holds up GREAT. took some nasty cornering loads at the SSDH last weekend. feels washy at 25 psi, but 27 is perfect :bang:

but why?! don't you need the traction while DH'ing?

I run a small block 8 at ~38PSI and that's rock hard but it works.
On the front I have a Panracer Rampage that set up tubeless really easily. ~28psi

I would not recommend running Stans at 60-65 psi. I was running Stanitized Racing Ralphs at 40psi and blew the front tire right off the rim at 30mph on smooth fire road - easily could have killed me & I still feel lucky to have walked away with just a destroyed rim.

    You had me rolling.

My tires on my Uzzi are happy to be tubeless. They never weep.
And they better not burp either.:-k

And if they do burp, they better cover their mouths and then say "excuse me."

I'm running ghetto tubeless on my front and it's working great, but I probably do need to add some sealant. I switched tires on the rear and need to go hit the gas station up for some compressed air so I can get it set up tubeless. Maybe tonight...

Ouch. Do you think you might have had a sidewall leak that wasn't sealing and slowly losing air. Thats some scary stuff.

If it's your first time trying to convert to tubeless I recommend NOT using Kendas. They will seal up eventually, but not before you decide it's not worth it to convert to tubeless. Pick up any of the Continental "Protection" tires and you'll be fine.

I've used these and run them with Stans without any problems, but I know of other people who have had problems with Panaracer tires blowing the sidewalls out. Same story with the Fire XC Pros.

    Tips for tubeless happiness
    1. Don't use Kenda tires. Thin casings and a tendency to burp will leave you bitter.
    2. Tubeless tires work better than non-tubeless tires. This seems like a no-brainer, but a lot of people try to save weight there and end up regretting it. DH tires don't seem to matter though, the casing is beefy enough to avoid problems.

I was wondering about this... I have non-UST rims and use non-UST Kenda Nevegals with a Stans conversion kit. As others have stated they are a pain to seat, but once sealed up I've had no problems.

Would using UST Nevegals on my non-UST Stanified rims make my life easier? I don't really care about weight, just the flat protection and traction.

ive used UST nevegal with stans with great success. i recently tried to use a non UST small block 8, couldnt get it to seat. but i gave up quickly. the UST SM8 work great.

tubeless is a must! ive had some pretty big stuff lodged in my tire that stans seals up. and can run <35 psi and NEVER get flats. i too have been carrying the same tube in my pack for months.

ive tried ghetto tubeless with a 20" tube used instead of stans strips. it works, but i find i loose more air overnight (as much as 10 psi). just doesnt seat as well as with stans strips.
