They were being abused (IMO) to the point of being annoying and distracting so they're gone. Color, font, and size to be exact.

I figure bold/italic/underline is all people really need to get their point across. No point in huge fonts and crazy color schemes.

while we're on the topic, I don't like having the option of having your default font be italic... because at a glance/fast scroll it's hard to see what's a quote and what's not. also not that easy to read italics in bulk imo.

Your default font is italic? Sounds like a bug.

Anyway to keep the color and font options for ride events?? It helps to be able to put changed/updated info in a different color (like red) so people will be able to see it easier.

I need my blue, size 3 Verdana font back!!! At the very least, give people their fonts back. Italic so 1980's.

I rest my case on the abuse.

Do you want italic/bold/underline to go also??

Pacman - to answer your question, I'll look into a way to disable those things only for the abusers.

Hmmm...what would that leave us then?
Nothing wrong with some basic options, so long as it doesn't take up any more space or slow down your hosts servers band with. Just my opinion.

Edit: Or is it possible that your trusty and dependable Mac had a processor/ram-fart and messed up some basic updates?

That is a good point, though.. That's probably the only time I've ever used color is in a ride/event to get something important across, or update information.

[IMG] stands out a lot more than bold does.

Space/bandwidth isn't the issue. The issue here is that it's annoying and distracting to be reading a thread and then come across a post with huge text and vibrant colors. This isn't eBay where people have to put "L@@K" in the title, write in all caps, or other junk like that. Fonts, colors, and sizes are meant to highlight important information. Not to be used for personal amusement at the expense of others.

    Mac? Don't get me started.

Not that it matters and I know you didn't ask, but I never really noticed it one way or the other.

    Were you getting complaints?

Obviously, my sarcasm and humor was completely missed in my previous post. Find one post of mine that's bold, underlined or larger then size=3 font and your argument might hold some water but you won't.

Bottom line: your board, your rules and whatever floats your boat.
