Your giving up DH but your going to rock climb? Yeah, rock climbers use helmets and all that when they are clinging to rocks 15+ feet in the air suspended by ropes and anchors.
    Good riddance.

Very mature decision. I'm sure you'll have more enjoyment from bringing up a child then you ever would my riding down some slopage. Your body will thank you now and in later life for not beating it up anymore too. Final bonus - more attention from a significant other because you no longer look like you were beat up every other week? :)

I fully respect your decision. however imo "what ifs" don't happen
I was nearly killed in a gas station at 5:45am, a guy just flew between the pumps at like 30 mph, i almost had a face full of a Chevy grill. I asked what if? I still drive and still pump gas, I look both ways everywhere now.
May be the line came loose while the bikes are in the back of the truck???:?:
now the lesson is to check your bike before riding...again:?:
There are so many things that can take you out in life, that if you think about all the "what ifs" you would never leave the house, but what if the house falls on me?
not telling you what to do or think, only you know best.

I am with you on this. Perhaps a good life insurance would give you some peace of mind.

Kudos to you! Being a parent definitely regulates what I do on a bike and life in general.

My brakes stopped working on the begining of Cables for some unknown reason. Luckily I was able to stuff myself into a bush. It is very unnerving for your brakes to fail!

It is not Robert. You may have suggested we try a trail neither of us recognized, but I agreed and when I recognized half way down it was Pistol Petes I am the one who made the decision to ride and not walk.

I'm going to get into crazy rock climbing. I do mild freehand stuff.

Thank you those of you whom understand and support my decision. I would like to be able to say oh it's ok it's just a what if, but it is not just me any more. I cannot think of only myself. I think a lot of you who are telling me not to give up the gnar and just wear body armor probably don't have kids and if you do are probably not SINGLE parents.

The difference between getting hit by a car and DHing is that one is my fault and one is not. It's not my choice if some dumb ass hits me, it is however my choice to take super sick DH trails.

That is a very mature decision for such a young lady. I've never met you and I'm proud of you. You have taken on a lot of resposibility and your choice is well supported here I think. Keep up the good work, get some life insurance, and wear the armor!:bang:
