There are alot ofriders who will ride within minutes of rain stopping. They basically dont give a damn. I wish the Loop had a gate that can be shut like some of the county trails. However there are way to many entrance areas.
I drove by the courthouse sunday morning and noticed the Pivot Demo was in full swing. I take it they didnt care about their bikes or the trail getting jacked either.

Tire manufacturers should have been there also, to see which MTB tires work best in the mud.

We were out on a family road ride and saw the Pivot booth at thte courthouse and stopped by to check it out. They were already wraping things @ 10:00 as their bikes were getting trashed. I'm not sure why the shop that sponsored this didn't cancel the demo after we got over an inch of rain 24hrs before? Its sad that so many people were out riding the trails. Its going to take a couple of days for the Loop to dry out some sections that don't get much sun will take longer. Respect the trail....

I rode the loop last night. There was a pretty well worn line in the trail that wasn't muddy.

However, I think the worst damage on the trail was from horses. And I saw a lot of horses out in the evening. I saw hoof marks dug in everywhere.

same. just rode it tonight and it's completely rideable the whole way through, with well burned/compacted lines around all major mud puddles.

yeah, there's a lot of horse damage (especially in the area leading to laguna lake), but the bikers did do a lot of damage themselves.

    Fully Loop Tonight

My Buddies and are debating whether or not to ride tonight due to the rain last night. We want to be safe and respectful to the course. What do you think? :?:

well, from q-ball and dell's talk of rain, i'm probably going to skip it. I think some are still riding (last i checked) and just trying to skip the muddy parts. I'm going to most likely give it a night off.

Still heading to roscoe's though!

How bad was the latest rain and how long should we wait for Fully to dry? I was out of town and my friend tells me that the rain was a dud. Is that true?

yeah, as much as it sucks not to ride on a day that looks as nice as today, fully is probably soaked. Please give it at least one more full day, two would be nice.:bang:

    Fully Loop condition today?

Was the rain yesterday pretty intense in Fullerton? Looks like we have some wet days ahead of us, so I would like get a ride in.

it did not rain in los angeles, but i have heard the Fullerton loop does not hold up well at all to the rain, so it might still be muddy from yesterdays rain..

    loop

I just walked the whole thing today, and it was fine to ride. Would have been riding myself, but I took a table saw to my thumb, so it's a bit hard to grip a handlebar at the moment
