History Lesson: :read: The Thursday Night Fully Ride was (for years) a 6:00/6:15 ride.

When STR decided to make it an official RIDE, it was set for 6:15pm. The departure time was changed (to 6:45) in order to accommodate a few fellow members- most of which no longer join us!

6pm... 6:15... 6:45....:?: Doesn't matter to me! What does matter is most of the ride is now being done in total darkness. For those without lights- not a good thing!

Tell me when to show up- I will be there!

I have no problem with an earlier start time--just gets me into a cold one at Roscoe's that much sooner!

As Dino points out, most of the folks that wanted the later start have moved on anyway, so why not revisit the start time, see how it pans out?

How 'bout we give the 6pm meet/ 6:15pm roll schedule a shot, see if it sticks? If it's a bust, can go back to the same ol' same ol' and at least say we tried it.

Come December any ride starting in the 6 o'clock hour will take place in complete darkness (or whatever passes for that in O.C.) anyway, so I expect we'll be talking about this again before long.

Whatever gets decided, I think a new thread/ calendar entry is definitely in order. At 21 pages (as I view it), the current thread has long outlived its usefulness.

Moving the time doesn't bother me at all. (but then i've never had the chance to ride the Thursday Loop with ya'll)....Now that I can actually ride the loop, I ride a different day due to your pace getting faster and faster, or at least that's what I'm reading on your posts..(I actually worked real hard at being able to finish in a reasonable time so I could join you all and not hold anyone back but rather enjoy the ride with everyone).

The Fully Loop Tea Party has finally settled down as summer leaves us, and will go back to being just a ride. That is until next summer! and the Party will start all over! See you all next summer -

I would be ok with an earlier start time. It will definitely screw with me doing 2 laps though. I will go with what ever the group decides and if I get in a little extra riding that's cool with me.

I hear ya! Two weeks ago, I couldn't actually get to the parking lot until 6:50ish. I rolled at 7:00, thinking I'd quickly catch the group at one of the many long regroups, but I didn't catch up until the far side of the loop (just before the hills off of Rosecrans). You're right...the group does move much faster as a whole than before, and the regroups are fewer and shorter, which I'm sure is good for most.

    i can see the light!

I am fine with an earlier start time, it would be nice to actually see the golf course in daylight once.......

And the faster pace is becoming a selling point of the ride. I feel stronger and faster every week, its nice to have a group that pushes you a little bit! For the rest of the newbs who ride, i think it is a great training, social scene. Not stupid fast by any means, but it will make you breath heavy! well for the fat, out of shape people like me anyway ;)

Ok, is anyone interested in doing a 6:00 meet 6:15 start? I'll be there early(about 4ish), maybe hammer out an early lap, hang out then roll at 6:15pm. That 30 min earlier start last week was nice. We did all the extra actually finished while still light and Mike(pain Freak) and I even shot through the trees at the end and could see.

Just so y'all know I picked up a few extra bike headlights recently. I will have them in my truck for anyone who wants to borrow them. (I already have lites) I will have a total of 3 headlights to lend. First come, first served. Just something to keep in mind as the days get shorter

I put a request in to Gonz to adjust the official meet time to 6:00p, and start to 6:15pm.

Sounds like the idea is already being embraced, so should be an easy transition.

    George?

Same here, will be squeezing an extra lap in before, so will catch up if I'm not there by 6.
    Catching Shinken though...that'll be tough!

Hmmm, I think I'll just do 1 lap for a few weeks, until my knee is completely healed...but I'm going to have a lot of down time before we roll out @ 6:15p.

    fully loop tonight

Im not too sure where this post belongs so im going to try it here. I was planning on riding the fully loop tonight when my buddies decided they couldnt make it due to their own reasons. I was wondering if any one wanted to lead the way tonight. Ill be there about 530 on my green IRONHORSE. ill be pulling it with my blue car. If you know you are going to be there could you please try to find me. I love riding but I cant get out much to ride. Call me at 951 532 9539 if you would like to confirm where to meet up in the parking lot.

    Thanks a lot,
    Daniel
