Don't get me started about the NEW crowd!!! #-o #-o #-o

Roscoe's is for locals.... Hero's is a locals type bar.... Many of the other bars/clubs (i.e. 75% of them), I would noooo longer visit!

Not necessarily the THUG attitude.... All places pack people-in like sardines, music is soooo loud you can't hear yourself think..

Used to be an area to just hang out and have a good time! Now many of these clubs have the same BORING feel of the clubs in Hollywood or the IE (people going out because they have NOTHING better to do!!! They are bored.... unoriginal....

Don't get me started.. Downtown Fully has lost its charm!!! I am NOT happy about that!!!!

Great to meet you and thanks for the mention :)
Maybe sometime in the future you can schedule a roadie beginner ride and I can come out to your hood!

Here's a hint: I was the guy going backwards on the climbs. And I guess the flats, and the descends too. :) I wore a solid blue jersey and rode the red/black Specialized. I'll be sure to say hey next time.

Bert--did you get your 'small' taco? ;) There's no need for a 'beginner' roadie ride. Any monkey can ride on the pavement, and I'll be the first to admit it. I'm down for a group road ride anyday though!

Given that we finish around 8:30, I think lights are still needed. it gets dark around 7:30 or so.

Can you all recommend a simple cheap light for me? Just for temporary use until we get enough daylight come June, and then I'll scratch up some cash for a good light. Are one of those cheap ($30..) AAA battery LEDs bright enough and good enough for the trail? Any recommendations?

I think you would do better going on e-bay and getting a cheap 6v halogen system. I have found quite a number of them for less than $30 lately.

The cheap LED lights are not suitable for anything more than climbing with IMHO.

    Here is an example

    http://cgi.ebay.com/NiteRider-Evolu...ryZ22689QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I do use a cheap LED to supplement my halogen systems. I turn it on and leave it one and save my halogen power for the descents. That way, even if your halogen is good for 1.5 hours, you are reasonably assured to have plenty of light for your entire ride.

Best bang for buck the fi$cally challenged mountain bikers among us.

His screen name is BRPARTS! I told him THANK YOU on your behalf.
That "OLD GUY" won't be lending them out next week.
The reason: He will be destroying his 60 year old XC competitors at Sea Otter.

Had every intention of joining the fun last night, but was pleasantly surprised whe the Path called to tell me that my brand new rear shock was in. Hauled butt down to the shop @ 5:30, hoping to slap the bad boy on my full squish & make it out in time.

Sadly, the 55 freeway (er, parking lot) had other plans for me. Hope ya'll had fun.

It was fun last night. I showed up at the court house and saw the group ride off. Only a few of us at Roscoe's, but was fun as always.

Here is a good description of what hashing is all about. It's a bit long, but it's a fun read: http://half-mind.com/Hashing/who.php

    Their event calendar is www.hash.org
Particularly note the events called "Bohica." Bohicas are hashes on bikes. They don't have them that often, but oddly, there were two this month. I have posted a few Bohicas here, but no one from STR has ever showed up.

If you want to learn lingo, go here:http://pwoodford.net/hashblog/?page_id=202
Select a letter to see words under that listing.
