Talk to anyone who works in the ports and hear what they do and you would be amazed what they get away with.

Such a sad story but it just goes to show that with the age of information both the bad AND good can come to light.

May justice be served and hero honored!

Listening to Tony Rackauckas tell the story about how these cops killed this kid is making me sick.

What actually happened is worse than originally reported, IMO. I can't believe that this could happen in 2011.

I hope the two cops meet bubba soon.

Just 2 cops? What about all of the knowing and willful participation in the cover-up that went on in the first few days? I hope we see several more individuals charged in the next few weeks. I also hope that several other officers are fired for lying on police reports and/or obstructing an internal affairs investigation. The organization's intent to subvert and manipulate the fact-finding process was evident.

I have no doubt that EVERYONE would be charged if this were not a police organization. We are still seeing special treatment at work. How the hell are we going to break the culture of abuse and cover-up?

Listened to the Press Confrence......sounds like those that were responsible are being held accountable. The other officers were not responsible per the different video evidence that the DA has obtained.....as well as what the officers filed in thier reports.

if they were just regular citizens, they would be marked as accomplices to murder.

Normal citizens would have been there by choice......the other officers were responding to officer in need of assistance.....they were doing their job....they didn't get a chide in the matter.

I am not condoning the actions of the officers in question. Investigation was performed....the DA felt the 2 that were charged, were the ones responsible.

There just may not have been enough evidence to prove that the officers were guilty.

We can all sit here and armchair quarterback all we want.....we were not there...we don't truly know what happened.

I don't have all the facts and am a bit relived by the announcement today--that at least a couple of the officers were found to have broken the law.

I would imagine that at least a couple or few other officers, at the very least, didn't live up to the standards which were required of them as police officers by allowing these two men to beat the victim to death.

I am not a conspiracy theorist or cop hater, I respect and appreciate law enforcement; however, I will be dissapointed if all of the other officers return to active duty.

At the very least, the other officers--any who stood by and watched and didn't take the action that was morally required should have the honor and the decency to resign their positions and to restore the honor and dignity of the remaining members of the Fullerton Police. Unfortunately, I won't hold my breath for that to happen...

    Well said.

I would think, however, that there is some kind of criminal liability for lying in their police reports. Hell, there is an actual criminal statute in the penal code regarding filing a false police report (a misdemeanor, I believe)... that, at the very least, should be looked at here.

The D.A. recounted what occured in his press conference. If you want to know what happened, as found by the D.A., I would expect that you could find a recording of it or a print version. I heard it on KPCC.

I couldn't listen to it all to tell you the truth. I had to turn it off. It was too upsetting. Like FlynRide said, it's worse than what was reported.

After watching the DA's press conference it's sickening. It is still outrageous that only two of the effing cowards are charged. Every single effing coward that "assisted" should be fired if they aren't going to charge them. They have no idea what it means to serve and protect and uphold the law, but every idea what it mean to protect the fraternity. They have no legitimate basis to enforce the law.
