I have the best idea yet. Dino get an ibis sl-r for every day riding. Get and HD 140 for the bigger days and then go Santa Cruz blur 650 b style and blow the socks off the cycling world. Plus his new shoe laces are sweet. He is starting to be a look a like to someone

Im actually curious as to when you become a new dealer is it discussed with current dealers or competition? I understand it sounds like a dumb question because in the end it is about profit but it must be hard for bike companies to maintain loyalty to shops , but still further their clientele Examples are of course you guys getting SC while the path seemed to have been the dominant sales for SC bikes in OC. Same goes for Giant where I understand you guys were the dominant when the path recently got them in. Also Laguna Beach Cyclery being able to keep specialized bikes even though they're not a concept store. I feel like it has to be more than just an application and okay from bike companies and must be fun competition for bike shops as well. If its to controversial just forget I ever said anything:wave:

First of all, I appreciate your speculation. You're young, in college, and full of intrigue.

Second, as far as bike brands in the similar area, SoCal is a very different beast than any other "area" you could think of. As far as competition, Tustin and Fullerton may as well be New Mexico and Delaware. Sure, there may occasionally step on each others toes, but it is not likely. The 55 is a formidable beast

Sure Mike and Tani sell the same brands, but hey, this is America right? 'Merica

End of story, Specialized is uber douchey for what they did to The Path and Fullerton Bikes. Fully Mike and Tani are dong the right thing in bringing exceptional brands into our area.

Thanks for the reply steve, but I think you missed the intent of my post. My post wasn't trying to imply any hate between the shops. far from it. I know FB and the Path are completely different shops. I have been to both and seen the differences first hand and both have their complete opposite appeals. My post was more regarding how a companies such as giant and santa cruz go about maintaing shop loyalty while maintain profits, and what goes into the process of determining which shops to place.Im sure tani and mike dont wake up one morning to see ads at the other's shop without heads up from the Bike manufactures regional managers. Ive looked on forums and havent seen much about the topic which I feel other would be interested in also, but understand that it may be a bit of a sensitive topic, especially with peoples shop loyalty. I'd be shocked to find out "Niche" companies such as SC dont take in small business compititon when deciding on new dealers.

Like I said, New Mexico and Delaware

I'm sure there is a lot of interbusiness ( shops + dealers) talks, but in the end, it is about selling a ton of bicycles.

You will never hear about the inter-shop brand + other shop + brand mojo. That is reserved for the players envolved.

All I know is regardless of where I break my bike, north oc or south oc, I will have bike parts to continue my ride

Is that a "Demo" bike? Im sure there will be lots of eager riders out there looking to throw a leg over that ride.
I've never been in FB but reading all the good responses I just may swing by this week and check it out.
Thanks for the post and congrats on the SC inventory.

I sat on that V10 yesterday and all can say is I was ready to grab a beer and watch some tv while sitting on it. That thing has got to simply eat up everything that runs under it.

Dino, do yourself a huge favor and get a trance X29er. I rode a proper trail today, Mt Lowe Middle Merril, sunset etc etc.
The bike just KILLED it on Sunset, plowing straight over the rock gardens, hopping at ease and adapting to the bigger wheels and pinning it.

I rode with DH bike riders like Chas, Peter Porras and other fast dudes, and I either kept up or trailed a little behind on the sandy stuff and very steep stuff.
A grippier front tire and maybe wider bars and look out mount wilson.

    How I would describe riding a V10:
"It doesn't get any easier; You just go faster." - Greg Lemond

That V10 is definitely a thing of beauty. Too bad my V10.4.1 is too burly to break so I can get a sweet new one...

    wait, that's a good thing...
