I heard 29ers suck. What do you guys think? Ok, I'm just kidding, but I was promised a flame war. I want a flame war dammit.
Dear sweet Katonk, when will you stop trying to pigeonhole me and simply accept me as the elusive enigma that I am? You should hear me when i use the word kerfuffle and phat in the same post...
 thankfully, I'm not married but unfortunately I can't spray diluted viagra water on the front end of my SS to try out the fork more...oh well.
DMR Trailblade is a nice rigid fork. One of the locals here has one and he loves it. Have you thought about the new Atomlab fork? It has 60mm of travel, kind of a rigid with a little squish. Although a little heavy, compared to a rigid. http://dhreno.wordpress.com/2008/01/05/atomlabs-new-gi-60-fork/
i am married, and i'm fully rigid all of the time -- that's the problem. that's what "the stranger" is for.
Foo is a real man... I mean what kind of person would enjoy a fast, rough ride with their hands wrapped around a big, burly, rigid... ...fork, that is... I feel dirty. 8-[:-$
never thought i'd be so excited about such a cheapo part, but :bang: Type: Package Status: Delivered Delivered On: 02/26/2008 2:12 P.M. Delivered To: SAN DIEGO, CA, US Service: GROUND
waiting on the cranks. i think they'll be here today. i took the brakes off my fs, and i'm putting new brakes on it (which is a whole story in itself). i have to get the fork crown race on. i'm thinking about dropping by a shop during lunch to see how much that would cost to get done.
just tap it down or press it by hand as far as it will go install the whole fork and usally you can use the headset to press it down
I use a 1 1/4" PVC pipe to slam on crown races. Slide the race onto the steerer tube, flip it upside down and slam down it through the PVC pipe. A few whacks and it'll be flush.
