You don't need to quit motocross. Do both. I find both are equally fun. I am addicted to mtb and riding 3~4 times a week, but will never quit motocross.

Glad to have you aboard mx girl. Mountain biking started out as a way for me to stay in shape also, sort of a cross training to compliment surfing. Well now I rarely surf due to mountain biking being so much fun and easier access. You will love the sport, the ease of loading your bike and getting to multiple trails everywhere makes it lot's of fun.

Welcome aboard! If you're ever in Orange County, send me a pm. I'm usually available to ride on the weekends.

Can't believe no one has asked... What mountain bike did you get?

Welcome to STR. There are lots of moto riders here. It would be fun to have an STR moto day. Unfortunately I sold my KTM a little while back. Maybe Jose will let me borrow it?

Good to know Harford Springs is still there. I used to ride out there from Corona over 20 years ago. Lots of loops and jumps, and never saw any other riders but the ones I brought.

Used to do nothing but moto trail riding but couldn't stay off the throttle and kept getting busted up to much. I had looked at this mountain biking thing but I smoked and didn't have the lungs for it. Finally quit smoking and bought a mountain bike the same week. That was 12 years ago and I love it just as much now as I did when I first started. I still ride a moto but much smaller and feels more like a mountain bike then a moto (yamaha 125 TT). We have a great group here and I'm sure you'll fit right in.

+1 on the Welcome to STR from another former MXer. After one too many injuries on the CR250 I sold it and eventually migrated to pedal power, because riding mtb's is soooo much safer .

I haven't ridden your area yet on a bike, but I used to ride Perris and Starwest on the CR (edit: Nice shot of you on the Starwest tabletop - and all the other pics. You've got skills!). I'd be happy to have a guide out there or to show you around some OC trails. And watch the calendar for STR group rides - they're a blast. Just keep an eye out for that Dino character - he's a little shady ;)

    Have fun!

Welcome to the MTB family! I also work in downtown Riverside. I believe there's a Tue/Thurs. group ride at Sycamore Canyon but I can't remember the time.

:welcome: I still have my moto stuff. I have to say I don't get out as much as I use to since I started MTB. But for sure I will make a Mammoth trip with all the toys this season. So if anyone want to do a STR moto / mtb Mammoth trip I'm in.

welcome, You may get your padded white jacket over there >>>.

If you like racing motos maybe you should try a mtb race, probably just as fun but way more challenging.
