I have not officially parked the KTM 250F but, Im tempted... Been racing mx for many many years...

For my birthday I got a nice lil mountain bike and for the past couple weeks Ive dialed in all my gear and hit the hills... At first it was about the fitness aspect of this sport, but now Im finding a slight addiction settling in. Ive eaten shiat several times.. mostly thanks to my clip-ins .. I dont have my throttle to gas out of sticky situations anymore.. sometimes my brain talks to my hand before my feet [to un-clip] .. then I just eat shiat..

My brother is big time mountain biker [he is skinny on here, from OC] .. well, I ride a lot out in Lake Mathews [thats my residence]; mostly ride alone.. I have found some awesome trails in Hartford Park and just throughout the Perris Hills, if your interested Id love to take you out on a ride, you cant be scared of broken down doublewides and shady neighborhoods, Ive been putting in about 4 rides a week for the past 3 weeks doing a average of 6-13 miles...

Ive hit up sycamore wilderness park once, but I have a feeling its going to be my home away from home since I work right here in downtown riverside...

Id love to ride with other chicks [and guys of course ]... Being from the motocross community I had a strong group of girls to ride with over the past 15 years.. soo anyone interested in inviting me out ???:clap: please think of me

Look forward to getting to know everyone in this forum :)

Welcome to the clan. One of my son's former football buddies' sister was a big MX girl -- award winner type. Can't remember her name -- she was like 17 three years ago. Real good.

Welcome!!! I used to ride Moto in the 60's and 70's and was on my High School Team!!! Yes, I was born in the dark ages!

P.S. I am working in Riverside right now and we try to ride at Sycamore on Tues/Thurs nights at 4:45pm. What's your schedule like?

I too, came from motocross. I raced in the late 70's, early 80's, when I read an 1981 article in MotocrossAction mag about the pro riders riding mountain bikes to keep fit. I looked into these things called mountain bikes and bought my first in 1982, by 1985, I sold my last YZ 250 and took up mountain biking and racing for my adreline rush. I totally love this sport and all facets of cycling, most of my friends, vacations and occupation have been centered around cycling.

:welcome: to STR! I also used to ride Motocross as a kid, then gravitated towards Big Bikes, then now MTB.

Try checking out the CALENDAR for great group rides.

Welcome from Mission Viejo. Motorbike people are always good to have around, LOL. I grew up in centeral Il racing dirttrack, switched to roadracing, now road and mountain pedaling! BTW...did you fix your brakes to their proper location? LOL

Welcome from Moreno Valley. I also work in downtown Riverside and sometimes mountain bike into work (well, its all dirt except for the 3 miles on pavement from Two Trees to my work place).

Also look into checking out Box Springs. There are some fun trails over there that you can loop around on with much more climbing than what Sycamore has to offer.

Howdy and welcome to the world of MTB. I also work in downtown Riverside and ride the Sycamore Canyon evening group rides when I can (mostly Tuesdays). Any relation to Rick Johnson?

Welcome from MoVal. I try to ride as many Wednesday mornings @ Sycamore as possible. Check the Trailhead section http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/trailhead/ for folks posting up rides and meet up. Also, for larger & more organized rides... check out the STR calendar http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/calendar.php. Me being a noob to biking, STR has been a great group for me to get out and learn the ropes. With your background and miles your putting in, your going to be a great ride buddy. Hope to see you on the trails.
