X2 almost, shock fluid is for high pressure IFP designs dont use it in forks, get the racing formula blue bottle for forks if affordable it is bitchin stuff, only a few more bucks. It contains better anti foaming agents and literally zero stiction, also better stable polymers, and better viscosity index.

Motul makes the best car brake fluid period, but I have no idea about their fork oil.

    I'd just mix the 5wt and 10wt 50/50 to get some 7.5W.

A quart will last you a while too, so its no big deal at 13/qt.

Hey you were right. I just wasnt working the other cap hard enough i guess:?:. I let out all the air on both legs and pumped them up again. And slowly let air out on both evenly. already made a big dif. But still not as plush as i want. Still gonna head to Dustin's on sat. Who else is goin?

Anyone got an extra quart of good oil i can buy off them? I cant find any place that sells those types of oils. And there is no way i can order a quart online and have it here today before i leave for BB tomorrow.#-o

..have you tried your local motor cycle shops? ..auto parts stores aren't likely to carry anything good.

I was in Mammoth this weekend. I gave my one month old bike and fork a real pounding for the first time. I actually had to mess with the adjustments on the fork a lot up there. I thought I had it set up right after riding the Gabes. :( It's the first time I have ridden this bike really fast on such gnarly terrain. It was a little tough making the fork perform well on both fast and slow technical stuff. I am a total nube for setting up suspension though. But I wish to learn.

I like to do the wrenching on my bikes. It would have been cool to have made it to your forking tuning "party". Please share the details. Do you have any pics of the forks with there guts torn out? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, take your top caps off, take the spring out. Compress the fork Fully.......fill till its 75mm from the top on each side. Then cycle the fork up and down a good seven to ten times. Compress fully again, and double check the level again at 75MM. Extend fully, reisntall the spring and top caps.

Dirtymike, I owe you a beer or something. I followed you steps on my XC bike and the fork is way better on the downhills, it was way to rough and jittery before but now it seems stay on line and rides much smoother which makes the downhills much better. My downhill bike has been perfect but then again The Path did my 66 fork.
