I assume you are doing the Fremont Canyon ride on Sunday with the docent?

If so, the ride is really good.....tough......but good. YOu spend the first 45 mins. climbing. You basically ride up one ridge, drop down the backside of the ridge, up the next ridge and back down. Ride is about 17 miles. Yeah, it takes about 4 hrs to do, depending on the level of riders in your group.

The climb up the second ridge after you descend into the valley, is the killer....long and steep. Seems to go on forever.

Basically you do about 13 miles of climbing for 4 miles of DH The last DH if fun, fast and long.

If this isn't the ride your are doing......disregard everything I just said.

It's behind the Irvine Lake/dam area in the protected Irvine Co. wilderness. Docent approved access only.
Tough climb with some beautiful vistas.
