Seriously, though, that sounds too easy. Unless they are extending the lap and making it longer. But less than a 7 mile lap for a sport XC race? Methinks something is up:-k

    Denmo...where did you see that??

Wow...yeah, I saw it too...1 lap for sport women but 2 for sport men?

Lame that there is a difference between the men's and women's for the same category.

edit: beginner men/women do 1 lap, expert men/women do 2 laps, pro men/women TBD laps (I'm assuming the same)...maybe another call to TBB is in order to make sure this is not a typo?

    ONE lap??

How long are the laps and was it the same last year? Cause the times were like 1:11:xx and I was thinking for 2 laps at Fontucky the sport girls were freaking HELLA fast.

    :-k

    ONE lap?!

They *must* lengthen the laps, then... even XC at Sea Otter is like 17-18 miles for sport I thought :?:

No idea where they'd gain that many more miles to get it up near 12 miles a lap, though. I mean 2 laps for Expert??

I will put a call in to TBB and let you guys know...

it must be a longer lap is what I'm thinking...but even so, you and I were running ~45 min laps at the winter series...another 20 minutes?

Going from last year it looks like it will be one lap, but a little longer.

I think sport races are usually around 12-17 miles I would assume :?:

So, it'll still be short... I really wanted to have results, but not sure I want to pay more for less!

Even the ISC is like 16-17 miles. Don't need to do laps necessarily, but let us be out there!

    Important Update...XC!!

I just received a call back from Tom Spiegel with Team Big Bear...

Their website currently says that Sport Women's XC is slated for 1 lap. THIS IS NOT CORRECT!! He said they will try to update the website.

Tom said that Sport Women XC will be doing 2 LAPS!!

Also, he says that they will be using the same course as the Winter Series.

200??? Only if I don't eat. I'm looking at 140 for gas, 60 for lic, 43 for entry fee, 60 for hotel, and another 40 for food.

$343 bucks for a race. It's about average and at least I'm paying in US dollars this season!

Thank God I work for the goverment or I'd never afford this.

Can you pre-ride the XC course?

I've never raced XC out there, is it easy to stay on course (I know they have all kinds of little signs out there)?

How many miles is two laps?

I am thinking now of just racing Sunday to make it easier and cheaper but missing the saturday DH :( .

going to check out the DH and Super-D courses on Friday afternoon.

    Probably, but I'm not sure.

It's pretty easy to stay on course.

The lap is about 6.7 miles.

Steph, it almost seems like TBB doesn't know what's going on, and they only figure out what they have to do after you prompt them with a question.

    This whole event seems ill-planned.

Well, so far if you're keeping score, that's two problems that I've found on the schedule. Think I can ask them to cut me a check for my hard work:?::lol:;)
