    Re: Safari 3.1...

I really like it but I wish they had a setting in it to retain 0 history and clean things up upon exiting (i.e. FF). At first, I thought the best it could do was to be set for 1 day of history then I discovered it's "Private Browsing" feature which is great with my only complaint being, you can't set it as your default and need to enable it every time you open Safari (under Edit). Or maybe you can but I haven't figured a way to it, just yet. Such features are very useful when surfing on company computers or using some else's computer.

Time to play with the reg. settings and search through Safari user groups.

Don't have a choice here at work. I use fire fox at home.

(We aren't supposed to d/l programs here.)

The odd thing is Justin d/led and uses FireFox at work, but won't d/l it and use it at home.

That's most likely because he doesn't want his work IT department to check on his internet midget porn activity and at home, he's got nothing to hide or fear from his domestic IT department.

Makes perfect sense to me!

I'm giving it a try (again).

I like to scan STR's home page and right click (open new tab) on each interesting topic.

With IE I get control back to the cursor immediately while the new tab loads. So I can go on and start another tab.

Firefox disables the cursor until the new tab has finished loading. (single-threaded design?)

NB - I use an Intel Quad processor, multi-processing encouraged.

That's strange. I've never had that cursor thing happen to me before.

Firefox 3 is about a million times faster than 2. It's in beta right now, and crashes a lot, but dear lord is it fast. If you're running Windows you can run Firefox 2 and the beta at the same time. I'm using 3.0b4 as my primary browser with good success. I recommend trying it if you're already using 2.

    Sorry grasshoppers...

I must be a relic... I use IE and really don't have any problem with it. I also downloaded and used Fire Fox for a couple of months .. really didn't see what the big thing was ... of course, I'm old and feeble minded .... and I'm pissed off as I spent Easter weekend reloading Window XP on Ranger Nancy's computer (corrupted partitions) Agh!!!
