 I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the downhill format! I have so been missing out! It was nice getting shuttled up to the course ... and I learned so much from just chatting with the DH-ers. It was truly an experience! What I love about mountain biking is how it offers so much diversity in the way of racing ...

My stupid Surely Singulater (what converts my hardtail into a single-speed) decided to fall off on my race run ... interesting having to go through the rock garden without pedaling! Some kids fixed it for me. How sad!

Yeah, I had some falls on my four trial runs. By run three the course felt really great, and I wasn't falling! Practice makes a big difference in DH! But now I'm a bit sore for my XC race tomorrow morning!

Anyone doing the Eilings Park downhill? I'll be there! I've decided to put a cassette on my bike so that I can actually pedal. That'll be nice.

JfromLV and Dirty ... congrats! Fun times out there! It's a blast to watch as well as ride. I wish I could see all the STR people.

Yeah, as Sharky said ... I need to enter more raffels! B/c there's no way I can afford a DH bike. But I gotta say - the course felt pretty good on a hardtail (except fo my chain problems). I ran a Blue Groove (2.24) on the back and a Kenda Nev. (2.3) on the front. Oh, and I swapped my regular 40 psi for 30. So it felt better than normal xc riding!

Good luck to those racing tomorrow! I'll be doing xc (8am - omg!), but then I'm watching the dh afterward.
