I go back and forth but I still prefer flats. Kona Wah-Wah pedals and Five Ten Impact shoes.

Hey I did mention that I have seen those falls on platforms, I just wanted to show that clipped in shot.

But now that you mention it, the pegs on platforms give me HELL. I just took a shot to my shin directly on the bone about 2 months ago, it's STILL healing.....I can feel a chunk of bone I smashed off or something it's just not there anymore but I am not in pain....Learned my lesson and will always wear shinguard's while doing anything technical.

My holes didn't even close for about three days. I'm sure we've all had them but still, ouch!

Thats why they invented shin gaurds:).
    I love my Easton Flatboys.

I've been using them for the past 6 years or so but used to ride clipless only. Since using flats, I have changed back and forth between both clipless and other makes of flats, but still love riding with these the most.
I wear 661 downhill boots, but also have ridden in Vans and other skate-shoes and find them pretty good but with too little protection. And I really do wear shin gaurds on a lot of trails because of similar injuries to those above. They are also poison oak resistant, which is great in the San Gabs.

Not really, I seriously never think about getting clipped, I ride the Platform clips from shimano, the ones with the alloy platforms, I just step down, and start pedalling, If I dont get it on the first push, I usually get it on teh second. and If I canno get back in, I can still stand away and hammer the turn or drop or jumo thats in front of me.

Yeah, but with the caged clippless, I still get a full pedal push in between.
