Dude honestly if you have a broken clavicle and not a torn rotator cuff you should be very happy. A broken clavicle is not to bad, I have had one, but a torn rotator cuff would likely require surgery.

Heal up and remember that bones typically heal stronger then before so it would be harder to break next time.

    heal up quick man,

not being able to ride is almost as bad as the injury itself. #-o

Good luck healing up. In the meantime, if you want to scout out the luge so you're ready for next time I just took this footage with my new helmet cam:

Wow! The Luge looks much scarier in your video than in real life. Must be the fish eye lens.:?:

100% agreed... torn muscles take a lot longer to heal than bones. Good luck and sooner than you know it you'll be back out there!

Thanks for the video....I think I bit it right around 2:22 or so.....from what I recall.

Thanks for the reminder. I will be in surgery Tuesday morning to repair the damage. Hopefully back out on the Luge soon.

    Best,

    PS

Bighit8, that was really cool to read...Those are the kinds of stories the Media needs to be emphasizing in my opinion.

Speaking of camaraderie I cannot bring myself to whiz past hikers or stopped riders even when they yield off the trail.. I have hiked before and it isn't the best feeling when a time trialing MTBer flys by without even a "hello" or 'thanks'. I figure my antics along with many other people might preserve the fragile relationship between hikers and mountain bikers... Equestrians I have lost all hope on though ;-)

To the original poster: Way to go! I would have remained splayed on the Luge overnight... It takes a lot to get up and walk to the end.. Sometimes I feel like convincing my friends to pack a stretcher in case I go down.. I am the weakest crasher ever =D

    Cheers,

    Terry

You've got that right. I recently had a shoulder injury from a fall and experienced the same thing. Mountain bikers are some kind folks. I had multiple people stop and ask me if I needed help (which I did) and one of them even flagged down a jeep for me, who kindly drove me back to my truck. I plan on repaying other downed riders I may encounter some day.

Good job getting out of the trail on your own. Hope you heal fast and see you on the luge,

    -solo
