O.C. areas closed during fire season Thousands of acres of wildland in Orange County will be closed to the public starting Monday with the opening of the fire season. The 2005 season begins at 8 a.m. Memorial Day, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Stephen Miller. The areas declared off-limits are in these districts: •North of the Brea city limits to the Orange-Los Angeles County line. •From the city boundaries of Anaheim Hills, Tustin, Orange, Irvine, Lake Forest and Coto de Caza to Cleveland National Forest. •Canyon areas in south Orange County. The ban is all-encompassing and includes walking into the areas, Miller said. The fire season usually closes in December or January. - City News Service
