I've got a 2011 Kona Steely with a Pike Fork and upgraded wheel set. It's a hoot.
Riding a hardtail makes you pick better lines, and it's a lot of fun.

Guys, people on here weren't "hating" (God I hate that term). They were trying to offer advice before this poster got hurt, or busted his frame.

A Trek 3900 is not an AM frame. You don't have to trust me on this; check Trek's own site - they list it as a cross between a trail bike and a commuter bike. There is always a danger in significantly over-forking a frame, on anything from a Trek to a Turner. Going from 100mm to 150mm on nearly any frame is going to put it outside it's design envelope.

The OP has a great component set-up; it just would be better served on a different frame. Taking an honest look at the difference between the Trek and the other frames pictured, I'd imagine he'd see that too. It's not a matter of riding style, which no one was criticizing. It's a matter of using the right tool for the job.

edit - looked up the year, and as a 2008 frame it was designed for an 80mm fork. You're essentially doubling the travel it was designed for. That's...dicey, at best.

I agree with timmay, the guy has some expensive parts on this bike im pretty sure he could afford a $200 on one 456 frame.

I know you were feeling proud by displaying your bike and having people criticize it kinda hurts but why are you being so sensitive? Nobody insulted you by calling you names, they only brought up legitimate concerns.

I realize some of those were works in motion maybe...but wow. I just want to try riding that Yuri.

    Innovation, meet laws of physics.

And for the record, no one was picking on the OP.

This beast is actually interesting looking, from an engineering standpoint and not a rider's standpoint.

Was this thread really re-directed to The Adrenaline Factory? I guess that could officially validate the OP's custom build.
