When i'm in the garage working/painting Nirvana unplugged is on the play list. Their best effort by far. For the die hards in the group, GBH has a new CD out this week. It's on my list to download tonite. After working in Canada in the early 90's I became a big fan of these guys. Which is mainstream up there. Good traveling music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNc0...75C5CE864&playnext_from=PL&index=0&playnext=1 I had a music moment with my 4yr old son the other day. After a simple ride at Santa Rosa Plateau, we got in the car and he cranked the radio being a smart ass. It just so happeded "hey, joe" by Jimi way playing. my son was into it. It got me thinking 25 yrs ago, I was listening to the same thing under a heavy LSD influence, driving the streets of Pasadena with no future in mind. Life is 180 degrees different these days, but the music still remains.
For Some reason got on a Gorillaz kick the last few days...goosh I wish I had .000001 the talent/creativity of these guys. Music plus videos are amazing... new Stylo Vid complete with Cameo by ...
For local bands, i like craic haus. Irish rockabilly = shamrockabilly . Check em out on myspace and youtube. They play a lot of local shows, definitely worth seeing. Don't know what the deal is with the video, but the song is "at the bottom of a guiness" by craic haus, great drinking song. As of today....I will go with Elvis Costello and Townes Van Zandt. That being said, I like to think anything less than a top 30 or so isn't fair to my other favorites in an all-time sense.
Thanks for posting that. I havent really paid much attention to propaghandi since "how to clean everything" came out. I listened to that cd to no end but never got in the albums that came out later. I wasnt sure it was really them until the end of the vide when he said "were propaghandi ****ers".......it was the "****ers" that sealed it. anyways, I liked it......oh and no means no is awesome too!
You can't forget gunther!! :bang: He's the best EVERrrrr... My daughter is 3 now. My taste in music has changed dramatically. I find myself listening to this stuff more than anything else these days.
Don't know about bands or musicians specifically but my two favorite songs right now are Bill Withers- Ain't no Sunshine. And Jack Johnson- Cookie Jar. I put the BW song on repeat for my whole workout the other day. He has an amazing voice. Lean on Me is another good one that he has done
