Great recommendations. I started with post #1 and am plugging all your suggestions into Pandora. Currently listening to station "Face to Face". LOVE P.O.D especially the old stuff!!!
right now im on pandora listening to a station called "arsonist get all the girls" yes..... good stuff..... if you like a kind of metal, progressive, death, grind sound.
It's a small, small world. :?:  You saw us play at The Back Door at SDSU then, or perhaps at our regular hang at The Spirit Club? Carmen climbed the walls at The Back Door once trying to do a back flip, but his foot went through the drywall, and he got stuck up to his knee. He was left hanging there for the remainder of the song, screaming his lungs out hanging virtually upside down. That was awesome!! I remember that we opened for Billy Sheets Undercover that night. They were great. For anyone just picking up on this -- this was 30 YEARS AGO!! Dang! Jennifer has always been the shit. From her early days mimicking Allan Holdsworth in her north county fusion group Purl (my friend Bret Helm was the bass player - we went on to play together much later on up here in L.A. in a band called XLM), it was always a fait accompli that she was destined for some greatness. I just listened to them a bit on Pandora. A bit too blue-grassy for my taste (I really, REALLY don't like the banjo...). Thanks for pointing them out to me. I'll keep my ears peeled.
warning cross post... If you ever get a chance to see these two...Rodrigo Y Gabriella take it this is just a sample of live, they are mesmerizing...she looks like she is in a trance. When we saw them they used the boxes as drums as well...the entire crowed has blow away. The next act up (can't remember) said..."Well sucks coming after them " The play heavy / thrash metal .... all acoustic, flamenco style..their story is pretty cool too. This really doesn't do live justice... And of source if you have the inclination well worth it.

Odd coincidence, but for some reason I found myself rediscovering Big Star about two weeks prior to Alex Chilton's death. RIP, Alex.
