As you can tell I am in waiting for the Butler and Dodger games tomorrow, so if you guys like music as much as I do, you get hooked on a certain band or group or whatever one at a time. I never got into Face To Face back in the day, but thats all ive been listening to for the last couple weeks Whose your main tunes as of right now..not all time?:?::wave::wave::beer:
Porcupine Tree. I just LOVE their albums Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun I'm into the Prog rock stuff.:bang:
Tal Wilkenfeld... ... I am simply blown away by this young woman! To be so young and playing at such a high level is inspiring. Damn, I've been playing bass for 30 years and I ain't got these kind of chops! And playing with Jeff Beck has got to be demanding. Good on ya girl! http://www.notreble.com/players/tal-wilkenfeld/
Listened to and saw face to face lots of times back in the 90's...those guys rock. Lately though, I've been listening to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, as well as Mash Out Posse (MOP).
Jeff Beck at Pechanga, picked up tickets yesterday. Wonder if she is touring with him? EDIT: Just found out Rhonda Smith is doing the tour. http://www.pechanga.com/Entertainment/EventsOnSale/JeffBeck.aspx
Plus she's pretty cute. Whatever the music, I love watching musicians speak to each other without using words. It's really something special to be in groove, like she is, then see her look up at Beck as she's getting ready to come out of it, just to signal. If you've ever played, you know that moment and it's cool watching it. Nice link, thanks for that.
Just downloaded Harlem Nocturne. Good stuff! Thanks for the suggestion. I found a great compilation of some super funky, wide open groove...JaZZ & mILK bREAKS vOLUME 2
Slightly Stoopid, and Sublime are always playing on my Itunes. Gonna take a listen to the new Coheed album. Im stoked!
Oh and If anyone like instrumental Music, Take a listen to Explosions in the Sky. They play some pretty crazy stuff. Used to listen to that under the influence. ha ha. Still good stuff though. http://www.explosionsinthesky.com/the_earth.html http://www.explosionsinthesky.com/allofasudden.html My two favorite ablums from them yet.
Last four stations I have listened to in my Pandora account: Umphrey's McGee -- jam rock with AMAZING players Porcupine Tree -- see above Hybrid -- groove electronica to push the pedals by Ozric Tentacles -- just cuz I'm weird... - shud
