Ever wished for sun when riding up Mustard?

    ...I did this morning when the temp dropped from 52 at the Whiting trail head down to the low 40's as we rode into the canyon.

    Seems like quite a bit of trail maintenance going on here lately - a lot of rutted, speed-bump, washed away turns are getting cleared out and the berms rebuilt. Even saw a maintenance guy walking the trail with a shovel this morning.

    The lower trail that feeds into the park, and ends at the bottom of Mustard, seems to be getting more sand every week. Not as bad as I've seen it, but still a pain. LOTS of deer in the early morning down here too - saw at least 12 during my ride.

    4-corners down to Cactus, and the rest of the trails that spit you out on Portola (not sure of the names) are all in great shape. Minor sand pits are forming in some of the quick down-and-ups, but the next light rain should take care of that.

    Overall the trail is in great condition and ready for riding any day.
