I know it's a long shot but does anyone want to rent some space in their vehicle for my bike and camping gear? I can get there but I won't be able to bring all my gear because I need to fly to the Bay Area before hand...

Hey Rut - I am assuming you are talking about a wheelset... not just the axle. :)

Nope, just the axle. The wheel comes separately.

Better hope you win both raffles!

Box it all up and ship it to Downieville Outfitters via UPS?

I think I'm going to visit some East Tahoe trails on the way up. I'm leaving this morning.

Rained and hailed nicely up at Mammoth Mtn this afternoon, at 8000 feet, plenty of lightning in Bishop on the way up.

Weather update: Kind of overcast today but it doesn't look like it will rain. The clouds are actually keeping it nice and cool. The thunderstorms are pretty much keeping to the higher elevations. Temps in the 70s.

Ride update: Trails look great. Did a 30 miler yesterday and am still trying to peel the grin off my face.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend.

Double poo poo. After looking at the weather forecast I'm pulling the plug. I hope I'm wrong and those of you heading up have nice weather and trail conditions.

ps - I'll be canceling 8 shuttle reservations with Yuba (4 Friday, 4 Saturday) for anyone that's looking for open spots.

    Craig,

Don't do it. You will regret it, I promise. Even if there is a little rain, you should not let that ruin a wonderful weekend. There are simply too many good reasons to go.

Craig? No D-ville because of a possible bit o' rain? WTF... meow. Take Steppie's advice and bail to a hotel in town if it gets bad. It will probably be like QA: cloudy at times and if it rains at all, showers of short duration. Its too good to miss out on (especially when you've already made all of the arrangements) because of what might happen.
