Looking for downhill trails in malibu area so I can keep training. Basically moved to malibu so I can't train on local dirt anymore. Any suggestions? Also looking for some cross country, possibly SS trails or maybe even all mountain trails to get some miles in cross training. When driving through the canyon I saw backbone trailhead I believe it said? What's that trail like? I apologize if there is a post on this, my blackberry didn't want to let me search. Thanks!

there arnt any DH trail that I can specifically think of in Malibu. There is always Suicide/Dead Cow in Thousand Oaks or Hummingbird in Simi Valley. But if you want DH runs that you can shuttle with a vehicle you have to go to Santa Barbara.

Fun trails, but not great for DH unless you like frequent stops. Lots and lots of hiker traffic on weekends.

This is a pretty fun shuttle from what I've heard, but I haven't done it myself. Those that have done it can chime in... I doubt it's considered DH, but it's probably fun.

Obviously you'd start up by the 101, and then you ride down to PCH. You can go back up if you want, or shuttle it :D

As long as it's legal, he can talk about any trail he wants. "Yes you moved here, but you can't ride here"...F that BS!

There are no trails in Malibu that don't require enormous amounts of climbing. None at all. Better off going to SB or Simi or Chesebro or Laguna.

The chunky technical sections of Backbone are off limits to bikes. There are FR sections but I don't know if you're a ST snob.
There's lots of SS & XC riding. You can connect to the SS & XC Backbone at Corral Canyon, Latigo, Kanan, Encinal (LINK1 LINK2), string them together as you wish.

    PS Dump the blackberry.

All we ask is don't post names. But To Brett, James, And Gordon, I ride with Brandon a.k.a Bflo all the time, and i will be showing him our trails because he can handle them and everybody he knows lives in La Verne so i highly doubt he will post locations or trail names on here. If you have info handle it through PM's. Thank you.

And Bflo, i called you, hit me up
