Hey Guys,

My name is Taylor, I'm 30 years old and live in Laguna Beach. I am designer for an architecture firm here in town and am riding whenever I can get out there. I grew up competing on Skimming, surfed, skated, and snowboard as well.

I went to architecture school in SD at the Woodbury School of Architecture and Design. Man that was a brutal and a blast at the same time. Now I have been back in Laguna for about 5 years because of being pulled back up here by the current firm I work for. Here is some of my work that some of you may appreciate.

The X-O-Plex an action sports complex

(this was pre MTB for me otherwise I would have put a trail down the hillside) Also the site is where the bench is at the top of the Dartmoor fireroad. Ironic huh?

In term of riding it's been a huge passion for about 3 years now. It's great because I don't have to drive to go riding. The dartmoor entrance to LWC in my backyard basically. I bought one of performance's budget Iron Horse Warrior bikes and have been slowly upgrading it. Well now I am over that bike and am hoping to get me a nice 6" rig around the first of the year. I cannot wait to have a nice bike finally! My current choices which change daily are a Kona Coilair 08 or 09, IH 6 point, Turner RFX 09, or Chumba Evo.

In terms of my ability as a rider I would say lower intermediate. The trails I mostly ride are probably, T&A, Stair Steps, Canyon Acres single track, and sometimes *** (not lately though cause it's loose as S**T right now). ha ha.

That pretty much sums it up. Oh also I love to cook, like to drink beer and really need to quit the Cigs. ha ha.

My wife took a class in Architecture at Columbia thinking it would be an easy elective class and came back saying it was the hardest class she ever took but has had a major appreciation for the study ever since. Let me know if your ever in Pasadena. We got a few trails up here that I'm sure you would like. I ride a 08 RFX myself and it's one hell of a bike. I race it DH at Fontana.

Right on. That's awesome you wife gave it a try. Yeah we started with 34 in our class and by the time we got to fifth year Thesis we were down to 15 I believe. It was a small class to begin with because our class was the 1st year through the SD campus. Woodbury is based out of burbank and they wanted an arch. school in SD. Pasadena is a great area. Umm hello The Gamble house. ha ha. I'll hit you up if I am ever in your area for sure!

 

Definitely quit the cigs.... mountain biking is a much healthier addiction

We must be neighbors I am on Ledroit St.

I normally get out of town for weekend rides but try to ride LCWP, El Moro, or Aliso twice during the weekdays. My favorire time to ride is dusk I catch the sunsets from one of the peaks and try to beat the night home. I always bring my light just in case.
