The time has come for me to replace my upper body armor so I would like to know ...

What are the big boys wearin' for upper body armor?

My 8yr old FlackJacket is a bit "worn" to say the least but back then it was the ONLY one I could get to zip up over my chest. Something with a spine/chest and shoulder protection, elbow protection not needed.

I guess I should clarify, I know what companies make what armor but has ANY stepped up and made a suit for us larger riders other then R.G.?

I was looking at the Kona armor but it is only made in an XL and there is a very good chance it would not fit me but it does have the protection I like. Something similar but in a BIG MANS suite would be nice.

    Will do, thanks Nancy

You must have missed the part where I asked about armor for BIG riders as nothing in that thread would fit me other then the shoulder pads the two funky wrestlers are wearing and I already have two sets of those pads without the spikes.

No, not always but I felt it better to have a thread that us fat/over size riders can get some info on armor without having to sift through the skinny riders recommendations (people with a chest size under 50").

It'd be even better if all the manufacturers would put a size chart up on their sites, even if it is just an approximate, then I would not have had to bother you skinny folk with a separate thread.

Thanks N. Yeah, I knew that 661 one does that and that is why I know a 661 suit will not fit unless they have some '09's that are XXL or if they made the XL to fit a 53" chest. If it says it will fit UP TO a 52" thnen 53 would be a bit too tight.

I also already have a RG so I know they fit all be it a bit snug, I was just looking for some other options.

Football pads would be way to bulky. Hockey pads would work however they lack spine protection.

I like to consider myself a larger rider. 5'6'' 150 lbs 36'' chest and I prefer nothing on my upper body.
