Can't we all just get along????

My apologies to anyone who has their undies in a bunch over not being able to ride our private elitest shuttle.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

In my defense, I was not rude to anyone and it was actually the shuttle driver who opted to keep the shuttle private since I reserved it 2 months in advance. As the day went on and our group thinned out, anyone was able to use the shuttle.

I had a wonderful time and thank you to all the elitest crew who came out and joined me for some DH fun!!!!

P.S. There are lots of rides between STR friends that don't get publicly posted, but we still post the ride reports for everyone's enjoyment. Can't we just leave it at that????? Life is to short for all the drama and BS.

Give Denmo a PM to join her social group on STR, I'm sure she'll include you guys in furture DH adventures.

The reason some rides don't get posted is because the organizer doesn't want to be responsible for everyone or be out there all day. I'm sure everyone can understand this. There are times when you have other stuff to do and your day is limited so you ride with people in your in your skill level.

STR is not an organization, we don't pay dues, we don't have weekly meetings. It's a message board where people with like minded interests get together to share.

Nothing is going to get handed to you. Get involved, go on rides. Go on trail work days, you'll meet lot's of people. I wouldn't say STR has a lot of cliques. I've met and ridden with lot's of different people on this board and they are all friendly people. Hell, FYM is one of the friendliest guys I've met on here.

I wouldn't worry too much about not being part of the "club". Judging by the pics, I don't think you guys would have fit in anyway.

 

FYI,

One of the problems with posting DH rides/shuttles is that as the organizer, it's my responsibility to provide shuttle vehicles and/or drivers and collect $$$ for gas.

I have organized many a ride and always end up with twice as many people that RSVP'ed and 1/2 as many shuttle vehicles as promised. That's why I primarily do small groups/invite only. Anyone who has ever ridden with me knows that Roger and I always end up having to use our own vehicle for shuttling and it only fits 7 people. Trying to organize and manage a group larger than 15 is asking for trouble.

We had a DH excursion once where we were not supposed to use our own truck. 2 of the promised shuttle vehicles did not show up so we actually had to remove our Tonneau cover and put it in the back of someones utility truck until the shuttling was over. Hence, we always come prepared.

 

regardless, thanks for the reports and pics. i enjoyed them. i've been watching vids on youtube of bootleg, it looks fun as hell, can't wait to make a trip out there someday.
