Well our 1st trip to Bootleg for this Winter season is now officially a sweet memory! A few of us had Friday off so we set off at 3:30am ready to meet our shuttle driver at 9am. The Friday riders were Denmo, Just_me, Cow, Happy Gilmore, Stinky Rider, Why_bother, Allison, J_sims, Troy, Quentin and Dave from KHS, 626mtbr and his friend Caesar and Kim G. from AZ. On Saturday we were joined by Mullarks, Rc_Compton, Calepic, Phil, Bobby and Craig. We had a blast and can't wait to go again. I don't have any photos (SORRY) so you'll have to wait for everyone else to post!

Conditions were awesome, dirt was tacky and temps were mild. Our group had a couple of crashes and too many flats(not me), a couple dented rims but nothing major! We had several virgins on the trip and we were happy to share in the cherry popping.

It's great to ride with our STR peeps and to watch everyone's skills improve. Good times for sure! DH for life!!!

Nice riding with everyone Saturday. Got 5 runs in before lunch and a big beer. (note to self, big beers make you lazy) Noticed I had a flat tire around 3 and decided I was done for the day. Thanks for setting this up. I had fun. I really need to get a DH rig to take full advantage of the DH trails there.

<using the Force. Yes, you do need to buy my M3 and build it up. See my for sale ad, then contact me for purchasing. <end usage of the Force>

I wish I could have joined you all out there! But as others said, it just wasn't in the cards this weekend.

I'm working on it.....Hold your horses.

I didn't take any pics of any actual riding because I was having fun actually riding. Here's what little I have. Helmet cam footage will follow in a bit once I get a chance to review and edit it into something that isn't totally boring.

I had a blast riding with Denmo and crew at Bootleg. Super F-ing gnarly trails there. I'm glad I didn't die

This morning me and Happy decided drive down a few miles from the Hotel and ride our DH bikes across the Hoover Dam. Just for the hell of it. There's was a few gnarly stairs to descend but for the most part it was pretty tame. We decided not to roll the super steep face of the dam since we didn't have any armor or full face helmets on. Hopefully Happy will get a chance to post the super cool helmet cam footage that he took.

Happy Gilmore Contemplates rolling the Hoover damn on his Sunday.

Holy crap what a great trip! That was by far my best time at Bootleg, I felt so good on the trails both days..

I took my camera up after lunch on Saturday and got pics of several people as they dropped the roller on Snakeback, I'll get those pictures online and posted soon/tomorrow.

    Great times out there everyone.

    Pics!

Ok here's the shots I took.

Most of them are unlabeled, as I'm really bad with names, even if I could see their faces.. If you can identify any of the riders, let me know their name/username and which picture and I'll update accordingly.

FYI, I reserved the shuttle through All Mountain Cyclery for Friday and Saturday. If you have a large enough group, you can secure their small truck/trailer for your own group (it's much better than riding the big flatbed standing up). It worked out really well and we had that sucker jam packed (24 people) and we didn't have to wait in line!!!

Ask Stinky_rider about the trip up with the dog!!!! ;)

I was out there too... got there Sunday and met a couple of my friends who were already there. Their ride review would go like this...

Wake up Saturday morning excited to ride. Get all of our gear on to go ride. Walk over from our camp spot in the parking lot to the loading shuttle. Give the driver $20 since he just told us "it's $20 for all day". Then, minutes later, get singled out rather rudely as "hey, hey, they're not part of the group!!!" and then kicked off the elite STR shuttle, real classy.

Here's some pics from Sunday...with our own shuttle.

Not to worry Dan I was getting the stink eye as well and I am sure if I tried to get on to the shuttle I amy have been chased off as well. The All Mountain Cyclery was cool enought to offer their services and said they had room for me if I wanted use their services. I was lucky enough to meet some cool peeps and got hooked up with free shuttle servicel. Still fun time for sure, I love that place.

It sounds like we have a couple kids with self esteem issues.

Nobody was rude. There were two shuttles running. The one Nancy set up (so called private) and the main, larger shuttle rig. The only reason anyone would be asked to get off the private shuttle is if they were taking someone else's space. I know it's a strange concept, but groups like to ride together. Once the group thinned out, there were no issues with other riders hopping on the "private shuttle"

It seems strange to me that people can be so negative doing something so fun. I hope your day wasn't ruined. Judging by the pics, it looks like you did ok
