I really like the details around the water bottle mounts and the fork lugs.

    can't see the fork lugs.

I have those same "stars" around the bottle mounts and removable cable stops on my Vulture.

Hour after hour went by today. I checked the FedEx Ground tracking site several times an hour after 4 wondering if by some chance they failed to deliver my new frame. The lady who works the front desk leaves at 5:30 and FedEx arrived at like 5:25.

I opened the box like a giddy little school girl. WOW!!! After 5 months of waiting my frame was in my hands. A beautiful red and white machine. I called Steve at Open Road to see if he was available to install my headset so I could start my build. Of all weeks for him to have power problems. The message says he's been closed since the weekend. I'm not sure I trust anyone else to install my headset around here. Push comes to shove by Friday I will hit up Velo Pasadena.

After a long dinner of killer Thai food with my wife we headed home to tear down my LeMond and start building the DeSalvo. The tear down was a breeze. Wow that frame and fork are SO LIGHT. Crazy light. That's going to be missed. Next I got through as much as I could tonight.

QUESTION: My plans were to wrap the bars with a light brown elk skin cover and eventually get a brown leather AnAtomica saddle. However looking at the bike with the black saddle and black tires, I'm thinking staying with the back saddle and getting black elk skin bar covers. What ya'll think?

Now on with the photos... Enjoy!

The fork, which I think turned out beautifully!

Finally the build is basically complete. Photo quality kinda sucks, poor lighting.

I found this bottle of beer with a perfect top for my new build. The colors match almost perfectly. The beer is actually killer double Belgian Ale too!

lookin' good! i think you made the right choice with the black seat/tape. if the red was more maroon, i'd have said that the brown would look sharper, but with a blood red, the black definitely rocks!

Kind of hard to say without seeing it but I already had a picture in my mind of how it'd look and now it just doesn't seem to be wheat I imagined.

Anyways it turned out great and better then I thought. Now I want a custom bike to go along with my next new bike.
