**Date Change** Hurkey Creek Campout 4/22/11 - 4/24/11

So am I camping with you?

 

All concerned, I'm going to move the Hurkey Creek Campout to the Evening of April 22 (Friday) to April 24 (Sunday). I know that April 24th is Easter, but I can't think of a better place to spend it. Please RSVP!

who's going this year

I'm on the fence with the camp out this year so i'm doing a roll call to see how many r on the fence or are just going to say no and not go. Should we make this a Saturday ride and
meet up in the a.m. and ride just for the day. Not to discount the campers but maybe include some of the peps that want to come and ride the Hurkey goods.

Camp Sites: Our normal sites are 105 - 124 with the option of using the tent camping only sites also 99-104 as well.

Basic Campsite Occupancy Rules: Maximum of two vehicles per site, maximum of six people per site. Extra Vehicle Parking is a a minimal daily fee. The rest of the details are located on the Park Information Website above.

Trails: Idlywilde, Ramona Trail, Alvin Meadows, May Canyon Singletracks and more....

Just like to know what skill level this ride is, so I don't get in over my head and hold everyone up. Thanks

 

this is a fun area to ride and there is no reason to not go the trails r easy to moderate and if it gets to hard you could always HAB(walk)

 

The Hurkey campout is upon us very soon, who's attending this year?

15 days left before the big weekend. Who's going that has not rsvp'ed yet?

 

That was my question weeks ago...Who's in on the camp out and if there is not enough campers we could make it a group ride for Saturday morning.

 

Looking at the rsvp's the count is 6 right now. That's low compared to years past with 30-40 people camping.
What if I bring a keg of beer?:beer: Who's in now? Anyone?

 

what time saturday morning do you think people will ride? I'll probably just join in for a ride sat. morn.

well the drive is an hour + so if we decide to make a ride we should shoot for 830 900am and still could get a great day of riding in.

 

8:30-9:00 is a good start time and will definitely allow time for a full day of riding.

 

Looks like Hurkey will be a small crowd this year. Anybody heading up early on Friday? I usually get up there around 9am and get a good ride in on Friday. Who's coming up on Saturday just for a day ride?

 

Just a heads up to anyone who's taking their dog, I just got back from camping there this weekend and had to pull off 10+ ticks from my pup. She didn't get them at the campground but out on of the hiking trails. Just make sure to check your dog (and yourself, I guess).

Enjoy the ride, the weather was great!
