I just heard from the County that Art Tuttle is up to his tricks again but he is stepping it up.

He put a cable stretching across the road at neck height so when your flying down Blackstar you would hit it causing serious damage! He has also placed boulders on the road and rail road ties.

The County and the Sheriff is aware is upset that more riders are using Blackstar now that the rest of the Forest is closed.

So heads up (literally)...he is watching the riders going up and then sabotaging the road for your down hill so you are unexpecting.

CAREFUL....carry the Sherrif dept. number on you are report anything and everything you see.

what a complete douchebag. is it going to take someone getting seriously injured before some kind of action is taken? my guess is yes, since we live in a re-active society...lets wait until someone gets hurt or killed before taking precautionary measures so next time something like this can be avoided... <-----sarcasm

    thanks for the warning sherry.

Some weeks back Sarah and I rode at sunset and in the time from us leaving to us coming back he had put a railway sleeper across the trail jsut round the corner from the concrete tunnels. Nasty enough but he'd covered the beam with barbed wire. If you'd have tried to bunny hop it and caught the wire with a pedal you'd have gone down for sure.

I read somewhere about someone saying hey we shoul;d compliment him on his Dads work (whatever that meant) and offer him a beer. Sorry, but in my experience a nut like this guy isnt going to change his ways over a few beers and a friendly remark. Solutions anyone??

The wire thing is just insane. Aside from bringing you off your bike a sliced neck is a but a smidge away from a fatality.

This is just crazy. I know the Blackstar residents live there for a reason and have been there for a very long time. I try to be respectful when i roll through the lower section I try to keep my mouth shut when I pass by all their residences and go as stealthy as possible. At least till I make the turn at the concrete tubes.

But this business of laying booby traps is dangerous and I don't see it any different than attempted murder. It would be very easy for a sherriff or other law enforcement to just wait for the bikers to go through and catch his azz in the act.

It also seems Art keeps a fresh deposit of broken glass just beyond his driveway.

Weekly he enhances the "drainage bumps".

With the increase in riders, we're probably driving him crazier than he is already.

You can use this number: (714) 647-7000

It is the non-911 dispatch for the OC Sheriff

HOwver if it is an emergency, 911 works as well.

If the County and Sheriffs department are aware of Art doing these things, it's a shame they can't do something before someone actually gets hurt.

Best let me have that number too jeff and I'll be taking my camera with me in future too.
Anyone got any night vision equipment they can bring along? A pic of Art hiding in the bushes would surely make the case to the Sheriff that bit more convincing.

Orange County Sheriff's dept number # is: (714) 647-7000....but I have to say if I were out there and felt in danger at the moment I would call 911.

Yeah, I'm not saying someone should kick his ass, but if it happened I would smile.

This is freakin' nuts. What motivates a person to hurt another to prove a point is beyond me.
