I'll be riding with a group of coworkers tomorrow at 8:30 am at Turnbull. We're not doing 7th St, but we're doing the other side of the canyon. If you see me on an orange 29er singlespeed, say hello!
If it's the same one you posted about a while back, then said singlespeed is honestly one of my all time favorite bikes. Hope to see you out there Lee!
I just put up a beginner friendly ride @ GMR (Glendora) on the calendar. http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=3326&day=2011-7-9&redirect=1 Hope you guys can make it.
Good Ride Today was a good day sorry to most if i was holding anybody up. great people on here hope to ride once again with everyone.:wave:
We should probably start a separate RR thread before the mods move it. I would do it, but I have no pictures (though, I do have one I will contribute ) so my RR would be worthless!
Great ride with a nice bunch of people. See ya at the next one. BTW, 36.7 mph down the 3 b's was insane!
Gtreat ride today went back up checked out the hikers on Peppertree FR.The 210 was packed for that soccer game didn't know it was that big of an event half the cars flying flags.Time to enjoy a nice Bubble sandwich.
I went home, showered real quick and PASSED OUT!! Been trying to get into shape so I’ve been riding every free minute I have but today was a bit too much with too little sleep. Still glad I made it out though. And to the horde of MTB’ers that had their way with my seat, thank you so much. You guys are the best and I really appreciate you getting me back on the trail. I’ll be at the next ride for sure. Think we should start earlier (8am roll out is more common) because it gets really hot really fast out there. Plus, we regroup often so if someone is a few minutes late they should be easily able to catch up. Just throwing the idea out there.
Your fitness and strength will only improve with rest, let your legs tell you when you need a day of rest.
My legs felt great till I crashed, that really killed my momentum. It was the 3 hours of sleep I got after the 40 mile ride at 1am this morning that did me in. Now I feel great (albeit sore) from my little tumble.
Lol. The late start is partly my fault! I apologize for showing up a bit late today. I agree, 8 is a slightly better time since it's a bit cooler. However, I didn't feel the heat was TOO bad today. I think we got lucky! Great ride! And the picture I promised... (This didn't happen this ride, but for those of you who are familiar with Turnbull, this is me when I fell in the pit on that exposed banked turn at the end of A-Line; The hill is much MUCH steeper than it looks in the picture. I wasn't able to get up with the weight of my bike on top of me)
could be where I fell today seems to be a tricky spot there. We should throw an old matress there it would probably get quite a bit of use.
