I broke one of the clip springs on my Candy Cs and they fixed it no questions asked, in about 10 minutes. Great customer service for sure!

I just wished that I was light enough to use CB pedals...... the pedals kept ejecting me everytime I landed off a small jump.......

+1 one on Crank Bros .... I beat up a set of Mallets for 3 years and then a beater cracked. They fixed it up no questions. I went and bought a pair of Acids same day as a spare cuz of the great customer service. Good company!

I'm 278lbs. I have had no problems with my mallets. then agian I haven't done any serious off roading with the wither. Took a spill and the bike stayed on for the ride. I like them.

oops, either.. big fingers on a small key board.

Try replacing the cleats...I have been having this problem as well and I checked them last week and they were pretty ground up. I guess its from all the HAB :?:

Crank Bros customer is great...because it has to be. In close to 25 years of mountain biking I have never had the need to use Shimano customer service-they might suck-but I wouldn't know.
    Flame on.

I broke two Candy spindles in a month and a half, one leaving me with a nice scar on my upper calf along with a good amount of blood loss. They were fixed no problem, after the second time though I sold them off. They offered to upgrade me to the stainless spindle, I told them I was already running the stainless, they said, "Oh, well we can fix it again." I now run Shimano XT's and I have broke one pair of those(the body in the middle had a small crack). They sent me a new pair no questions. No one else I know has had an issue with Shimano pedals, ever. Crank Brothers has great customer service because they have to, they sell an inferior product.

CB = amazing customer service with a fairly crappy product (crappy because they break, not because they don't work!)

you'd think they'd get to fixing the problem by now, i've broken a few eggbeaters, they fix it free and quick, but once a week got old

Clydes and eggbeaters don't seem to get along well.

love my eggbeaters, but my mallets are questionable and took a beating in one trip to AZ. A couple months ago they had a sale and worked on people's pedals for free. My eggbeaters got some great free service. I'm really tempted to do a road ride from my house to CB with my mallets in my jersey, have them work on them while I go get lunch, then ride back home.

CB are great for XC, not sure I'd be hucking stuff on mallets though

    Crank Brothers = Harbor Freight

They both sell cheap crap, but the service is good! OK, well CB's stuff isn't cheap. But like Harbor Freight, they take care of you when it breaks.

+1 for eggbeaters, at CB as I speak getting the full spa treatment. Run eggbeaters on road bike also. Couldn't be happier

Egg Beaters have left me clipless-less twice. That's two times too many. SPDs could probably withstand a decent sized nuclear attack. Warranty service is great but it doesn't get you back to the trailhead any faster.

For what it's worth, I really wanted to like Egg Beaters.

I'm around 200lbs + gear, and have been running the same pair of Mallets for close to 2 years now without a hitch. I don't huck, but I'm no lightweight and I've got at least 2500 dirt miles on them. I had to tighten a loose screw on the end plate once, and cleaned & greased them once, but otherwise they've been flawless.

I have CB's on 3 bikes. Ride them 3 times a week for years now. Not one issue.
Not one. Customer for life, and they are down the street from me. Love their product.

The only reason I use CB is because of the amount of float you get with them. I used SPDs for about a week and had horrible knee pains and were tough to get out of. Its a good thing the HQ is right down the street and they have good service or else I would have switched back long ago ;)

    I also love the float.
    Great pedals for Cyclocross too.
I did snap a Ti spindle at a most inopportune point in a ride but I really like the pedals and will keep riding them until it becomes an issue for me.

My sentiment as well. I really wanted to like them too. I have more than 6 pair of Candy and Egg Beater pedals that have bent or broken pedal rungs that are sitting somewhere in the corner of my garage. The last failure really scared the crap out of me (I don't know how I saved it). Out of desparation, I switched back to an old pair of SPDs about a year ago and I don't plan to go back.

I need to be able to trust that my equipment is going to hold up. For my safety, Crank Brothers need to improve the product durability before I can consider them as a viable option.
