Converting to a 1x9

    To try and explain is simply, A chainguide is not a tensioner, it keeps the chain loaded onto the chain wheel. The upper parts, guides the chain right onto the chainwheel, holding it tightly, the lower roller holds the chain keeping it from bouncing itself off the chain wheel when the terrain gets overly rough.

    is this on a FR/Am/or XC type bike,

    for an xc type bike you can run an N stop with a Spot Bashring and save alot of weight

    this is on an XC bike and the FD has been out of whack since the day I got it ( compliments of Dizle). So i have pretty much learned to ride without it. So now i just want to take of the other 2 chain rings because i don't use them, and i want to look cool!:lol:

    for a XC bike you won't need much then. a lot of people use/like the N Gear Jump Start because of it's simplicity and price
