This is my commuter. 4.3 miles to the train station but on the way back it's all up hill. She doesn't like to shift so it's more like a SS. Great training ride with heavy....everything.

She even patiently waits for me at the station every time. Hopefully some bumb won't damage her trying to get to the lock which cost just as much.:-k

    commuting rocks

Fountain Valley to Irvine via PCH/Back Bay 3-5 days a week. 42 miles round trip. When the wind is crazy I do the urban assult ride home, which makes it a 30 mile day.

my trusty ride is my ol specalized dolce

Usually drive monday take my gear for the week and leave my car at work all week and drive home friday.

    Here's my rig.

Its a Euro asia bareknuckle frame with more bling hung on it than my mountain bike. Nitto bars, thomson stem and post (cracked one faceplate on the stem so now i have a black one), king headset, regal saddle, zen messenger chainring (replaced the old broken one), etc.

Its been getting me 8 miles round trip to school 4-5 days a week and 6 miles round trip to work 3 days a week for close to two years, and the frame and fancy parts replace my old fixed gear road conversion circa 3 years ago.

Although the handling is a bit twitchy, I really love the fit of it on the road, and have done many 30+ mile rides on it.

    cars suck

    My commute:
2miles to bus (30mins sitting on bus)
    4miles to work site.

This bike is super fun. Here are the details for all you true bike nerds:

    Nishiki Prestige (Tange Infinity tubing)
only original parts are the dia-compe front brake and Sugino Sp-K post.
On-one Fleegle bar (always trying new bars, this one is ok for now)
    Brooks B-17
105 front and 600rear hubs (fixed via Surly)
    Syncros stem
    Tange headset
    Ultegra 600 cranks (165)
    48x18

Super fun! Gets me all over town. Cars suck.

Don't ride this much for commuting any longer.
Used to ride from my client site in Marysville, WA to the Hotel in Everett, WA. (10 mile one way)
The gearing was a bit taller and I ran Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires...

But here it is in full commuter regalia:

I ride my SS in to my classroom at least once a week. 7 miles to my school, then I work in about half of the Fully Loop on my way home. In fact, rode in this morning; it's more than worth getting up an extra 20 minutes early (but damn if 4:40am ain't EARLY).

Sorry for the cheapo cell phone pic; it's the only one I have on my school comp...
