I unloaded my Monarch on Ebay last week..you sure you want to throw money at the problem:lol::lol:c'mon, I had to say that!

I thought it really improved the Canzo, especially being on the "bigger" side.

Haha! I was trying to avoid throwing money at the problem, but the Monarch had other ideas. I'm thinking I'll keep the Monarch as a backup, should I do more stupid stuff on the bike...

 

has anyone tried to fix the monarch, change oil weight to somehtign heavier ?

Im thinking you might be able to up the valving on the platform and have a decent shock

 

I tend to agree - The shock seemed severely underdamped from the start.

 

i havent rode the canzo w/ the monarch so i cant say but riding it w/ the RP23 set on PP3 is really nice...traction is great just stiff enough IMO but when you open it up to go downhill it really shines

RP23 is DIALED on this bike. The back end of the bike, both ascending and descending, acts like it's supposed to. Good dampening, but when in the open position, tracked well and was bitchin on a DH trail (and a little hucking I did tonight, but I was kinda skeered on the bigger drops tonight)

Honestly, sell the Monarch right off the bat and put a RP23 on the bike - I'm going to email John Benson from Voodoo and suggest they put the RP23 on them from now on. Even if they charge a bit more, it'll be worth it.

 

i havent ridden it w/ a monarch but w/ the RP23 it is great and like you said on the DH it's just marvelous

Excellent bike. I've owned one since last August and truly think it's one of the best values in 29er FS. I'm not a FS kinda guy and riding the Canzo convinced me to go one more and get a 5-inch Lenz. So...

I've got a medium '07 Canzo if anybody wants one. See it below.
