I hadn't thought about it but I suppose I could bring my laptop, do they have wireless access there? If you want you can call my cell phone 714-747-2189 late Friday afternoon and I will tell you what campsites.

10am sounds like a good depart time for Saturday AM ride. I am planning on doing a sunset ride Friday evening on Overlook, unless someone can come up with a better spot to view the sun setting over the ocean.

On the website. Not sure how current it is. But it sounds hopeful.

    Wi-Fi Service[IMG]
Point Mugu State Park now offers AT&T Wi-Fi Service!
This service enables park visitors with wireless enabled laptop computers or personal digital assistants (PDAs) to access the Internet. You can access this service if you are within a 150 foot range base of the Sycamore Cove Ranger Station

Right! What was I thinking? You'll probably sleep right through the cowbell. I'll bring the airhorn. ;)

I'll check the website to see if you were able/decided to log in. Dean, if you think you'll be up by 8-8:30, I could call you before we drop down to the canyon from NP.

AFA the sunset ride, Overlook is your best option. The only better option would require a drive up Encinal Cyn to Charmlee Park. It overlooks the ocean with unobstructed 180 degree views. But I think they close at sunset.

bummer!! my wife just flew out of town last night, to help a family member in SEA. I have a sitter to watch my kids, but it won't cover the ride times you guys are talking about.

Sorry, but I will have to ride early...and I do mean early. So unless someone wants to get a jump start on their day, say 8am:eek:. I will meet y'all some other time.

    Have a fun wknd,

Liz called me and she stopped by Pt Magu this AM and got sites 22,24,25,26,29,and 30. She has sites for anyone that contacted to her and told her they had a reservation. 3 cars per site no limit on the number of tents per site. So it sounds like if you want to make a last minute decision to join us we will find a spot for you to pitch a tent. Extra parking available in overflow.

Dino Brown, she told me to tell you that you are covered for tonight (Friday).

Liz said that it is green and pretty with bunnies hoping around.

    TEP,

I'm planning on riding early, like that. I'll meet up with the big group some other time. If you want to put some early miles on, I'll meet you at 8AM at the Wendy Trailhead.

NOTE: Liz's power has been off at her house so she has not got any PM's if you are trying to get ahold of her.

Please nobody take offense here, but there is way to much confusion on ride time. I think it has been said about 9-10am for a start. So just show up by 9am and worse case you have to hang out and shot the breeze with folks while the ride comes together. Remember most people are camping for the weekned, so that tends to slacken the pace alittle as most folks are not in a hurry. There may be more than one group and I'm sure someone will be riding heading out within the time stated.
    my 2 cents on that
    Thanks

Hey Mr. T, you're absolutely right. I guess if I was camping with friends/family, I wouldn't want to pin an exact time down for a ride time. It's a little selfish of us locals to expect the campers to narrow it down any more than that.

I'm going to join some of the other locals for an earlier start time. I don't have the luxury of an open day of riding.

For those who want to get an earlier start on the trails, we'll be meeting at the Wendy trailhead in Newbury Park at 8am. You can split off and head over to the campgrounds or stay with us on the trails. We might even cross paths with the STR campers later in the morning!

    Everyone have a great ride!
