Different weather sites are predicting different things so lets keep our fingers crossed!
Save something for a Sunday ride guys. Don't forget we will be riding Saturday night. No sense wearing everyone out on the first day!! ;)

My plans are slowly evaporating. What was a 2 night trip might become a 1 night trip now. Is there a tentative schedule for rides yet? As far as the days/times? My original plan was to be there friday noon-ish, set up camp maybe get a ride in that day and stay till sunday. As of this second, it looks like I will only be there until saturday.

Another question: I know it's been mentioned already that there are various trail for various riders/skill/fitness levels. Is anyone bringing a SS???

I think a few trails are being left out. such as Upper Coyote, Hidden Pond, and Dave's run.

I run 32/19 or 32/20 on my 26er and climb everything out there. I could probably go 32/18, but my knee wouldn't be happy with me in the morning.

Also, this area is rigid fork friendly.

Sounds good. I'm ridding 32/18 at the moment. DOn't have any 19T or 20T cogs at the moment so the 18T will have to do.

Are there any specific rides planned yet? I live close by so I won't be camping, but would like to head down for a few rides this weekend ...

I'm not camping either, Dave. Meet me at the Wendy trailhead at 8:15am on Saturday. We'll ride down and into their camp to meet/greet. Then group up for some rides. DirtMistress suggested a 9am start time.

WAITWAIT!! I said 9 or 10 depending on which way the wind blows!! We got all day out there! Gotta have coffee and cakes first!!

I need a confirmation on who has sites and who can possibly share if necessary.
I believe I have Steppie, Sprockethead, Slowspokes.
I have two sites..2 tents per site...8 people... hmmm...
Did I invite anyone else to stay on my site? Not in my tent, just in my site!

Sorry, I thought you had mentioned a tentative start time of 9:00. There are several of us locals who aren't camping but would like to join you all for the rides. We'll need about 25 minutes to get from the Newbury Park trailhead to the campground. Will you be able to post a start time before Saturday? We'd like to meet everyone before we hit the trail.

Judging by some of the responses on this thread, it sounds like a few riders are going solo on the adventure. Do most people want to just wing it or stick together as a group?

Whatever the case, looking forward to some good riding and trail conditions.
I'm riding Sunday morning as well. Not sure when the start time is for the camping folk. Stay tuned.

I don't know about you all but I go to these camping trips to spend time with friends, be social and met some new folks. For me sometimes the ride is secondary...besides I have rode those trails before...was up on Malibu Backbone just a few days ago.

I just go with the flow, even when I go on rides with my usual suspect we have a hard time staying on a pre-arraigned route. Hope the locals come by and have a pre-ride cup of coffee with us all, and stay around for a post ride beer or two. Love getting to know people better and hanging around the campfire is very good for that.

I was notified last night my friends memorial service is going to be Saturday. My friends have asked me to stay the weekend (Quartzsite,AZ) so I'm out. I got the okay to ride this weekend from my doctor too.

I think it's a worldwide conspiracy to keep me from riding.

Come to the campground about 9 to 9:30. I'd like to be riding about 10 or so. I am not the boss, I am merely the organizer. :)
I look forward to meeting a bunch of you and hanging out for a couple days.
Many of us have rides planned in our heads. I would like to take out a group of beginner/intermediate riders and take them on two fox's/Sage and Sin Nombre with a possible climb back up Sage to go through Wood Cyn for the intermediates. The beginners can head on back if they want.
On Sunday I want to kick everyones ass and ride them all so hard that they scream for mercy!:)
Dean wants to do a night ride on Friday and I'm good for both Friday and Saturday nights to ride.
