    Just saw that myself - tragic news for sure! Riding on roads in South Africa is almost like playing Russian roulette...

    Unbelievable. He was on a training ride with his wife. Only 25 with a great career/life ahead of him. RIP.




    edit: early reports stated he was on a training ride with his wife -- turns out, not the case. He was alone.

    Really really sad. He was great on the bike. Met him several years back at Sea Otter when he just joined Speciized. Seamed like such a nice guy. RIP and are prayers and well wishes for his family.

    That's sad that he was with his wife and I didn't realize how young he was. I remember watching him in the Olympics and watching some pictures of him in one of the big races last year, might have been La Ruta or some other stage race--he was dominating the event.

    Tragic! He also just recently won the2012 single speed world championship [SSWC] in South Africa. I heard Brain Lopes is orgainizing a tribute ride in the OC. Any info?
