for mavic, they name their rims based on features and size.

everything with an '8' on as the first number is a UST tubeless rim (with the little inserts). examples are the 819 and 823.

the last 2 numbers are the size in mm across the inside of the rim.

we're saying that they should offer a specific UST rim, in the in-between size of 21mm (Tani's EX 821, lighter than an 823 for racing, still tubeless), or the larger size (my 829, which would be like a 729, but tubeless)

as of now, if you want to run those size rims, you need a 321 (lighter, decently strong rim for DH racing etc), or a 729 (heavy duty, freeride/DH). neither is tubeless, and if you want to run them as such, you need to use a rim strip, tube (or stans strip), etc. that adds up in weight.

CRC just got the Hope Tech V2s back in stock, much cheaper thru them than any place state side. These brakes are very nice I have them on my new DHR and love them so much I'm gonna replace my Ti 6/M4 combo on my Highline with a set soon. I wanted to try the Formula The Ones but at the CRC [or even Wiggle] pricepoint it was a no brainer.

Hope V2's w/ Vented rotors are Bike Park brakes, way to Heavy for the 951 race build, you can save close to 1 pound over the V2 if you go with Formula The One's. (I do however have a set of V2's that will be for sale soon).

Tmac and Bryon both swear by the 09 Shimano Saints, I would imagine that they weight more than the Formula's

it's funny, I'm now a total shimano whore. if only my shadow saint mech felt as crisp as an XO, and still didn't stick out much, I'd be all over it.
