So I have a carbon fiber road bike. I was planning on upgrading my componets and when I went to take off the bottom braket I found it wouldn't come off. Even using 1200 lbs of touque. I noticed that my sport drink mix had gotten down into the bottom braket, I'm guessing all the sugars and other stuff in it, welded it in place. Or I'd like to call it sugar welding. Is there somthing I can soak the frame in to break up the sugar? Or is the frame toste once the bottom braket burns out? It's a carbon frame, so I can't use anything that would break down the carbon either. Any ideas? My buddy told me that's it for the frame one the bottom braket goes, since it's stuck in place.

Just take it to a local roadie shop that wrenches on carbon fiber bikes... they should know the tricks on removing stuff like that from a frame....

And BTW, that BB will work on the newer parts you told me your upgrading to....
