Take care and get well as soon as possible! I have some other injured list friends, maybe you could form a support group and read books together or something to keep yourselves out of trouble? I know the time drags on when you can't do the things you like.
Thank you everyone. I miss all of you. Surgery scheduled for Tues. Good news: I may get down to my high school weight. (this OXTCODONE kills my appetite) See you when I return
What are you talkin' about? :?: *WE* expect to see you EVERY FRIDAY (Orange Y)...injury or no injury! Sit in the stands... Walk the track... Give Fred and Lee riding tips... #-o
lol @ the person that listens to tips from the broken rider. I need to do more listening/learning less crashing.:-k
Randy, I genuinely missed seeing you at the state finals today. Obviously, I wouldn't have expected you to race, but I was hoping you stop by and hang out (hanging from your good arm, of course!). But I understand that the conditions wouldn't have been very comfortable for you. Just know that you're part of what makes going to Orange fun - not just the racing part, but also just hangin' out. Hope to see you out there soon!
Thank You. Once the bone is set I will be out. I wanted yo be there today. Hope you did well today Lee
There is the saying that "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach!!!" Do you think Bela Karoly did any of those flips he's teaching those kids??? Maybe call up Bela and see if he has any good landing tips...:bang: I kid, I kid!!! Hope you have a speedy recovery.
Although in many cases, that saying applies, but when it comes to bike riding, I take offense to it. Although I do ride - presumably obvious - I enjoy teaching others techniques to improve their riding/racing. I take great satisfaction in seeing riders improve their skill as well as watching them feel the joy from their newfound accomplishments that result.
Lee's a good teacher and super motivating/suportive. I doubt I would've gone through with racing my first 4x if it wasn't for him and Ricky. He was really supportive and I was NERVOUS! The best teachers not only teach but take an active roll, they're the ones who make that lasting impression IMHO! Props to all those who are willing to spend a bit of time to mentor and push the sport of bikes (whatever the discipline) forward!:clap::clap::clap:
That's because you are a DOer (as is Randy, Fred, Dino, loads of people around here, etc.). :bang: I was just goofing on Randy saying it would be funny to take riding advice from the guy in the cast. Lots (maybe all) of us are students of riding and need people like you that are willing to give back. Thanks.
I went to the ortho today. He says surgery this week. I may be @ the Y Friday. If not Fri. then next week. Randy
x2! I hope all goes well, and you're back riding soon! You may want to start your return to BMX racing by doing some mountain biking.
