Steph--I have this: http://www.harobikes.com/bmx/bikes/backtrail_x24.php I bought it with some grand ideas but have never ridden it. It has been sitting in my garage since I got it. I'd be willing to part ways with it if you're interested. I'll take a loss on it to sell it (need the $$ for some 29er parts anyway). It wouldn't be a lot of $$ out of pocket and you can see if you're into it. Which is what I should've done. PM me if you're interested.
They only come in the one size. Click the link and look under geometry and specs to see if it'll work for you.
Totally agree with Dino. I "recently" picked up a 4X/DJ (still 26") but with steep head angle and way twitchy as comped to XC, AM, DH, bikes. it's fun but most def takes a bit getting used to. still say go for it and have fun:bang:
So you are definatly in the market for a used bike. I say go to the local track by your house and look around. They might even have a for sale board. the track here always has one or two bikes hanging on the fence with a for sale sighn on it. Also check your local mom and pop bicycle shop. Ebay:?:. Putting the word out is great as you have already done. HUGH Oh and thanks for the Porn:bang:!! Here is some more for ya...
That is a schweeeeeeeeet bike I think that this Wed. I may swing by the Kearny track...maybe even take a spin around on the Yeti.
The Haro I have retails for around $330. I'll let mine go for $200. A shame too, since it's basically a new bike. Damn 29er fetish...
The only pic I have is from the day I brought it home, before I took off the reflectors and plastic chain guard. It still looks this way. I'm not kidding when I say I never rode it. Well, I rode it around in circles in my driveway 2-3 times but that's it. So it has maybe 200-300 feet of use on it.
Steph, There are a lot of really good cruisers that retail between $300 and $400. I'm sure you could get an even better deal, which would get you into a new bike for your price range. I'll be getting one of these soon for Ko, so I can retire my vintage GT (box it up and put it in the rafters). In regards to the 4X vs. 24" BMX bike debate, well...I ride and race both, but I couldn't tell you what you want. They're very different, obviously. The 4X bike has more uses (I still do basic XC/fun rides on mine, whereas I couldn't/wouldn't with my BMX bike). On a 4X track like at Fontana, I'd only use my 4X bike. Although I could use either at the BMX track, I general prefer my BMX bike. You have a tough decision, but you can't go wrong with either. Be cautious of using a 24" DJ bike for BMX racing (i.e., heavy, odd geometry, bike setup, components). Hugh, awesome bike! What gearing are you running?
Oh...so you're going to get the silver Intense? Are two black Intenses too many for you? BTW, my 20" that I'm building is also black.
That Intense is sweet. I went to a BMX bike many years ago and I never really rode it either. It just wasn't the same. The bike's just sitting in the garage, I'm about ready to give to my Babysitters kids. Good luck SD.
Thanks man. Tha bling is on its way! I went with your suggestion of 42/18. I feel 42/17 will be on there soon. HUGH
I can imagine! You hooked already? You looked pretty comfortable in those pics in the other thread. Sorry Steph. I'm sure guero will come through and clean all of this unrelated stuff from your thread. I guess we're not supposed to have discussions in the Marketplace area unless we are interested in buying the advertised product or have a product for a WTB. http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/general-discussion/18128-just-friendly-reminder.html
