I found some pix after the blackout........

    ............in no particular order

I had a Six Degrees of Separation moment during the ride. I came up on Cowboy (Winston) and _______(Allison) talking & heard the Loop mentioned. One thing led to another and realized that Winston's daughters (triplets) were best friends with my youngest sister. I happily rode to the top with Winston and we talked to whole way ... except for that last steep (gasp)

Brewmaster had his front tire wash out right in front of me. It was a HARD landing. Everyone slowed at the corner. Glad you're allright!

I'm not sure if Hanzo or ?? took the photo of me and my son, but thanks so much.

Glad you were there to cover me Duke. Hard landing indeed....

I think the conversation after I crashed went somthing like this:

    OTHRider: You ok? You ok?

Me: Yeah, just got the wind knocked out of me. *touches shoulder* Oooo..blood...cool.

OTHRider: Good you're ok. Can I get a picture?

    :D

The only thing missing is an "I'm fine- is my bike OK???"
Thanks again to Gene for organizing this-Thanks to the Warrior's society for the refreshments and for all you do in your maintenance/advocacy. When can we do it again??? I have to admit that it's been a few years since Patrick and I have ridden here. It's a lot more fun with the group!!! Traci- We are very proud of you- You and Brian are STUDS. Thanks to the sweepers- your encouragement is so important to our sport and making sure it grows!! It was great meeting more of you. Oh- and thanks for all the help lifting the BIG RIG and Burley over the gates.

A big thanks to all who went to the trouble to set this up. This was my first STR ride and it was great to meet so many nice people.
The scariest part was not the rattlesnake but the dude wearing the yellow speedo.:(:(
Look forward to doing another ride!

Wanted to say a big thank you to Gene for putting together such a good ride:clap:, also Chris and the Warriors for all the drinks and support:bang:. It was cool meeting some of the STR peeps whom I couldn't even begin to remember all the names. Thanks to the bros that helped to get the Rig over the gate. Most of all I want to thank ShugaMama for helping to get my rear up the hill. Oh, I want to thank Adam for being such a good boy and jammin' the Elmo guitar alllllll the way up:bang:. I think there might have been a couple of times that he got out and pushed. Traci & Brian and the sweepers  that is what a newbie group ride is about, you rock, congrats on making it to the top. Anybody that I forgot Thanks that ride was a blast. Thanks for all of the good photos.

John, awesome video man! Glad you had the helmet cam.

Just curious, what was your max speed on the downhill? You and the other Warriors were flying!

Thanks for putting on a great ride. Granted Tio and I got there late but nevertheless we felt the adrenaline - and tasted the dust from tires on the move before us so it was all good :).

I signed up for the ride at the last minute and was glad I did. I was expecting the large turnout after seeing the last few Fully rides, but it was nice to see how cool everybody was. Not an elitist's attitude in the bunch.

This was my first STR ride and my first time up Blackstar. Having a group ranging in skills and abilities made it alot more comfortable to find a group and hang on.

Big thanks to everyone who put this together and a bigger thanks for the rest stop refreshments. Nothing like a Guinness when your sweating your butt off. I'll have to return that favor sometime.

It was cool to see everyone pitch in a pickup trash and debris. I can't believe the jerk-off's that break bottles & leave trash in such a beautiful area. I must have picked up 3 pounds of broken glass and spent bullet shells!

Brewmaster: good to see you are ok after that spill. I was immediately ahead of you went you went down. It's funny, I went into that left turn thinking 'wow, it's a bit slippery here' then CRASH, I heard you go down. I stopped in time to see you jump back up so I was glad all those rocks didn't tear you up.

To the STR guy I think I was holding up on the downhill. Apologies, you should have taken my offer to go ahead. New bike, new trail and out of shape = slow rider. Ok, not to mention my appendages that get smaller with each passing birthday...

Good times and looking forward to the next outing.

Looks and sounds like everyone had a great time. Sorry we missed out on this, and hopefully we'll make it out for round 2!!

Thanks all who posted write-ups and photos. Great to be able to almost feel like I was there.

thanks for the video John! he was following me and george on the descent into hidden valley, i am the bubb in the blue shorts. then right towards the end of the downhill heading back to the cars he cruised on by me. it was rad to see how much dust i avoided by being one of the first couple of bubbs to head down!
