What time did the group end up rolling last night? I started early thinking I was going to be sloooooooow.
We started rrrrreeeally late! (Sorry guys! :wave Took me over 2 hrs to get there from LA. Did you pass anyone coming up on your way down?
We passed people in the valley when I couldn't feel my hands! There were two of us...one crazy guy in a short sleeve jersey and one who may have stolen the poor guys windbreaker. :/ Thanks again, Patrick! What was your pace like? I was afraid I'd be too pokey to join you guys. I just started riding again two months ago after a three year hiatus.
You're lucky you didn't run into anybody up there, I heard they were all makin out on the trail!! LOL
If you guys do this every Thursday, I'd love to join sometime. I've never been riding at Blackstar and would love to tag along to learn the trail. However, from the sound of it the trail is not very hard to navigate. Every Thrusday???
I'll be there Halloween night but w another group which I'm sure we'll all merge at some point. Brian: we SSing??
What is the group's time from gate to gate? Will 1 hour 20 minutes be too slow? Slowly getting back in shape and I expect to improve on it. My biggest issue may be bundling up. Started today at 3:30 and ended about 6. It was still a bit on the cold side for me. Here is a good thread on gearing up for cold weather riding. I hope to get my leg warmers from Amazon before the Thursday ride.
1:20 will be just about right. We've been busy BS ing most nights so I don't think we've hit 1:30 yet. The cold isn't particularly a factor for me on the way up, but it gets damn cold on the way down. Last time it was so cold I got a nasty headache before we even got to the valley.
Yes, I definitely need to do the B* SSing again. I can't make it this Thursday, but will plan for next week. Thanks for kick in the butt.
Had a wonderful time with pmortuary and Nat. It truly was a beautiful night. It got a little interesting when pmortuary shined his light on a lightless helicopter which began circling us. Please come on out and join in next Thursday. I can use some company on the way back as a slow downhill rider. It was surreal to ride alone with nobody in sight through the valley on the way back.
Did you miss me??...lol. I ran into Jeremy at Sherry's and told him I had to pass out candy and probably wouldn't make it.
Ahhhh.....he didn't mention it......but I didn't ask either. Way more fun to ride than to hand out candy.
Not the way I celebrate Halloween - I dress up like a hag (yeah, I know DW, not hard to do) and scare the shit out of kids, but alas, I wasn't in the mood this year; there was a lot of disappointed kids and parents....
