So it's officially Fall, the days are getting shorter and colder, and it's time to get your training started. We started last week for the full moon and it was awesome. Park at the tree farm and be ready to roll at 6:15.
We started about 6:20 last Thursday and were back down to the cars by 8:30. We stopped, took pictures, watched the moon come up and regrouped a few times. As it gets colder I don't think we'll linger as much but we like to stick together and make sure everyone is accounted for.
Not usually but when the fast guys show they will and be back to beeks by the time we're ready to head back down.
Thank you so much for arranging this. Right now I am out of shape. Struggled to finish the Fully tonight. Maybe I will take mtnbikej's suggestion and leave early, but I am not sure if I can even make it to the top. So will this happen every Thu night (except for holiday weeks, I am assuming)?
Is this going on at 6:15 again? I've never been to blackstar and would love to joing by my Wife does not get home from work until 7:30. At that point I have to had off the Kids and drive from Long Beach. Because of the late start time I've been doing Fully Loop every Thursday but I'd love to ride somewhere different. Any chance one week you could make it a late start?
Its Blackstar......you can't get lost. and 7:30 is kinda late by most peoples standards. On a school night, if you take the average of 2-2:30 hours, that is finishing pretty late.
Yeah it should be pretty much every week throughout the fall and winter. Head out and see how far you get. Every week you'll get further and faster.
The only thing is I would like to be with the group once the sun goes down. I will get an early start tomorrow and see how it goes. It's amazing what taking three months off with only sporadic rides sets you back. Hopefully muscle (as well as cardio) memory will help me restore back in shape. To think that just in July, I made it to Sierra Peak without killing myself.
