yes it is advisable to bring a camelback FULL with water.

please also note there is a crossing in which we can stop and buy water / gatoraide/ etc. i dont know the exact clicks by it am guessing a bit more than 1/2 through the ride.

i was on the aforementioned newbie ride and while it was hot i will go out on a limb and suggest not way gets that.

BTW- if you are joining in and have not rsv'd please do so to ensure i have right count for beers and burgers, etc...thanks

ALL beers are mtn bike friendly..it just depends on how long you want to ride. As for your camelback..bring some extra bottles for your bike and/or strap on to your pack.

    Or, here is another idea...
    1) Remove bladder from the camelback.
    2) Fill 1/2 full ice cubes
    3) Bleed off air and replace bladder in camelback
    4) Add 6 cans of beer cold beer to your pack

    Ride off with your friends.
This method is an approved riding configuration because toward the end of the ride when you are out of beer, the ice has melted and you have nice cool water to drink.

I also have a 70oz small camelback, but am able to use the straps to put a bottle on there to kick it up to 90or so oz then another bottle on the bike and over 100!! If that doesn't work, just knock MohammedInABearSuit off his bike and take his extra water (and beer!!)

I really wanted to make this ride but it looks like it just isn't meant to be.

Still without a MTB friendly vehicle and my planned car-pool had to change plans.

I am looking forward to the insane RR that will surely follow though.

Hopefully see you soon in the 808 JD! \o0o/ 's

I'll be doing the Luge at 6:30am with maybe a quick push to Old Camp, then onto the "formal" event at 8:30am...you can always do the Luge instead as a warmup?
