I merged all of them. ;) There were 4 threads of the same topic. I hope the poll questions are what you were looking for, too late to change them.

    CV to UTC

I thought about it, but I'd have to ride through National City. Um, no. However, if anyone can suggest a decent way to get from UTC/La Jolla to Chula Vista (East Orange/Hilltop), then I might consider it.[/quote]

My commute to work is just the opposite. Live in CV work in UTC area. I drive to the Old Town trolley center and park there and then ride my bike to the UTC area. About 11 miles from the trolley center to my work. Don't know how long the trolley ride is from Old Town to Chula Vista, but you could ride there and get off on one of the CV stops and ride the rest of the way to work.

I replied "2 days" instead of "every day (3 days+). We rode in 3 days last week, but only 2 this week.

I imagine until the time changes we'll probably be commuting in 2-3 days a week. Just need to get my "problems" figured out and I'll be good to go.

Used to commute a couple days a week during summer. Current place not super friendly either by route or by company but I need to do it. This week won't work :( but maybe soon. Good luck and congrats to the rest of ya.

I used to commute trough National City (west of the 5 fwy.) and never had a problem.
Now I'm in Coronado and I wish there was a bike line on the bridge!

I ride two miles to the train/bus station and take a commuter bus the remaining 34 miles. I dont think the county would approve of me jetting down the carpool lane on a mountain bike.

I'd love to ride to work but thats a long 34 miles through the roughest traffic and the most brainless idiots in the country....

I rode once last week to the station and plan on doing it 4 times a week and driving once a week to work.

I would love to ride to work, but at 47 miles each way, to far. So for Bike to Work Day, I am riding home from work. Carpooling with a co-worker to get to the office.

I might try to ride to/from work once a month, but that may be later.

Yeah, I've been really wanting to commute to work on the bike, but it's a pretty UGLY 40 mile ride! 8-[

I live in the Lake Forest/Mission Viejo area and work in the Santa Fe Springs/Pico area! Yikes.....! I've driven up/down Imperial Hwy through Fullerton, La Habra, & etc to see what the traffic is like during commute hours and it hasn't appeared very "bike" friendly. #-o

I'm considering taking the train in from Irvine and then just attemping the commute home, so I'm not on a time issue. That counts as partial commuting....right?

On the way home the sun was out. Lovely.

I came cruising through Del Mar and the familiar traffic of the evening was jammed heading north. I expected it to ease up as I came down Camino Del Mar but it was messed up even down Torrey Pines and up it! I smiled :bang: I felt like shouting to the people but I hope just my presence made them think. Good times.

    Looking north.

On the move heading up and still traffic.

Oh man those pics make me miss living down there! (Except the traffic, but hey I'd rather be sitting in traffic next to the ocean than here in LA... LOL) THANKS for the pics =)

I rode on Wed and will ride today. I will take a photo and post it later. My commute is not too impressive since I only work 1 mile from home so I take the beach cruiser...does that qualify as a single speed?

I MADE IT! Drove to the Metro Station, took a cross town train from San Bernardino to Riverside and rode the 4 miles to the office.

Let's see if I can get back home later...

[snooty] No, Zippy, that's MY beach. I live across the street. We just employ you. [/snooty]

    KIDDING!

Very glad to have you guys out there. Just don't cite my wife and me for having a bottle of wine with a picnic, 'k?

Back on-topic. I rode in today - 3 mile east-bound commute perpendicular to Uno-Speedo's. Did it on the single-speed, which was frustrating. Roadies don't generally drop me that handily ... it did give me time to appreciate the egrets fishing in the lagoon, though.

Saw a few more bikes out there than usual. Hopefully it will stick for some people (myself included)!
